It made her breathe catch, the stinging feeling if the blade it water. The pain made her feel alive. It fixed her. Made everything else seem to fade away. All she could focus on is how bad it hurt. Tears ran down to her broken smile. Something wasnt right, it, it wasn't making the voices stop. her breath caught in her throat as she held back a scream. Fear crept up her spine as she realized what she had done, she just cut a little deeper, then some more. But she had gone to far, pushed to deep this time. Black spots begain to form in her vision and her head began to pound, This is it, its going to be over. She had told her mother she was just going for a bath. Kissed her cheek while her mother was to busy with dinner to notice the swelling around her eyes. And the bruise starting to form on her neck. Just like her best friend Sarah was to busy with her new boyfriend to notice the weight she was loosing, and how she no longer asked for her to come over. Just like her teachers who didn't seem to notice how her work had slowly stopped coming in, how she hid her body and her face in class and never spoke a word. Just like her brother who was to busy getting stoned at night to hear his sisters screams and his father's shouts. Just like the school counslers were to frazzeled to noticed the red flags. Just like how her aunt was to blind to see her brother was falling into the deep again, and the payments she gave him seemed to get larger each time. Just like the neighboors upstairs begain to just drown out the occurances each night, no longer wanting to know why please no, and stop, were the only things to be heard each night. Just like how the local clinic to busy to notice the same girl would come in asking for pain pills. Just like the local sherriff to busy with the local druggies to investigate the violence of an upeer class man. No one seemed to notice at all, until her mother walked in and found her dead baby girl floating in a red bath.
