Rays from the sun greet me with warmth, as I open my eyes to a new day. I'm laying in Justin's arms practically naked, I look up to find his face hidden away in my hair. Moving my hair, I reach up to kiss his lips. Seconds later his eyes open with that tinny flame I love to see, only this time the fire looks blue instead of bright orange. I crawl to the end of the bed to find my robe, its on the floor ruffled up. Picking it up I get out of bed to put it on, I head to the bathroom.
I'm staring at my self in the mirror brushing my teeth, I feel lighter than usual, almost weightless. The door edges open, through the mirror I see Justin walk in to the sink alongside mine. He begins brushing his teeth as I begin washing my face. I don't know what to say words cant explain what I felt last night. I've never been that intimate with a guy before, and now I see why. I suppose he's as confused as I am especially about the fire part and the fact that the room is faultlessly intact. The place must be fire proof, considering the people from his house help build it.
"I'm gonna go check out the rest of the house after I get dressed" I say looking up from the sink.
"I had the very same thought" he replies smiling at me,
"Oh" I pause switching the topic "last night was unexpected" I say casually.
"Oh please you practically planed the seduction" he says monotone on the brink of laughter.
"Yeah well you started it" I shoot back at him,
"What? How?" he asks honestly. Thinking about it, I could say he had no shirt on, but that s normal for guys so I guess I have no come back. My silence is a bliss to him "exactly.. You can't tell me how" he says grinning. "Fine" I say poorly hiding my smile, "you set my heart on fire last night losing control was fine with you, your just as dangerous as I" he says in a devilish tone as he grabs my waist kissing my forehead.
I've dressed in a pair of navy blue sweat pants, a white long sleeve belly shirt, and pinned my hair up. I leave Justin in the closet getting dressed, I'm going to find something to eat. Heading down the corridor, I observe how the radiance from the sun showers upon the smooth marble floor. I observe a statue of the "Thinker" sitting against the wall as I admire the lovely shadow it casts. As I descend down the marble steps, my hearing fixates on something moving particularly fast. Before my brain can process what it could be, I've already flipped Charmain flat on to her back. She winces in pain as I help her up,
"Oh my word, I'm so sorry about that I don't know what's wrong with me" I apologize. She stands up right cracking her back in to place, I cringe at the sound. "Its alright, your body is just getting used to your Damphire side, after all you were only awakened a few days ago." she says reassuring me.
"You know... I'm not quite sure I understand how this works, scientifically speaking. How can I be a Damphier born from two human parents?" I ask honestly.
"I see you still have a passion for science" she says pausing to think "well I guess it would have to do with soul mechanics, humans have it all wrong... Memories don't reside in the brain, they reside in your soul. Our bodies are just vehicles for our soul, so when your soul leaves your body, as a Damphire all your genetic memory is imbedded in your soul. After a certain age you begin to see your differences and awaken to who you really are with every passing day." she finishes I'm not quite sure I understand, so I accept it for now. She examines my head and a horrified look crosses her face.
"Where is your tiara?" she asks baffled,
"Oh its in my room on the bed" I say,
"Ill be back, in the mean time look inside the basement, your sure to love what's down there" she says walking up the steps.
