That face, she seemed to just look at me, watch my every move. Her eyes dark as night with just a touch, a spot of light that came out of nowhere. Her face was beautifully shaped. She seemed strange though, as if she was thinking something; a plan of some sort. Something that is crazy to say because it was obviously just a painting. Maybe I was misjudging her, something that rarely happened but, wasn't impossible.
Her dark brown flowing hair seemed to just rest on her pale white chest, as if she had put it there herself. Her lips plump and red as an apple, rare on white women.
It was as if mystery was her purpose. To make you guess and wonder so many things about her. Who would have just left her here to sell, such a unique painting in a plain yard sale.
"Thank the gods for my luck" I said to myself and walked across the yard to get it. A woman had been watching me since I had gotten out of my car but I hadn’t paid any attention to her.
Until now, she was walking toward me. I got to the painting and while I leaned down to pick it up she asked "Are you planning on buying it?"
As I picked up the painting I answered "Yes, I would like to buy it."
"It isn’t something originally mine." She said with a straight face. "A man in a black car had dropped it off and paid me fifty dollars to keep it. I found it quite strange but fifty dollars are still fifty dollars."
I smiled and said "Well that's true but it is really weird to just drop a painting at a stranger’s house and pay them to keep it."
"It isn’t quite my taste in art so I’m selling it with the rest of these stuff I no longer want." she said as she smiled. I noticed she had dimples that were adorable even for a woman her age.
Her hair was black with white streaks in it and her big green eyes looked like a perfectly green meadow.
"Well luckily it is my taste in art and I’m willing to take it off your hands. How much is it?" I asked.
“For you?" I nodded affirming it was for me. "Um, thirty dollars, it's less than what I paid for it but I think it's a fair price."
"Sure" I said.
"OK, so let's go to my stand so you can pay."
She started walking to her stand and I followed her. We got to her stand and she said "Since I like you, I’ll lower the price." I smiled but said " You don't have to I’m fine with the thirty."
"Well its twenty five, take it or leave it" she said with a slight smirk.
"Well if you put it that way. I’ll take it." She smiled again and I took out the twenty five dollars out and handed them to her. She opened the cash register and put them in.
"Thanks" I said.
"Don't mention it; it's been a pleasure doing business with you mister?” She said as she waited for my name.
