The French language has masses of similarities to the english language. However, there are countless differences too. You will discover this as I update this book regularly. Now let's get in to the phrases.
One of the most known phrases across the world (for languages) is bonjour and hola. Bonjour being french for hello. However, there are 2 ways of saying hello. Salut being the other. Bonjour's literall translation is good day And salut's literall translation is hello. However, it is more common for you to say "salut" to friends or teachers. Whereas "bonjour" is your everyday word you would use to greet someone etc. "Merci" as you may also know is thank you. It is not pronounced mer-sea. It is pronounced m-air-sea. Very much or so much in French is only used as one word, beaucoup. Strange right?? Yet again, the word doesn't need and accent on a specific letter to mean that it has an accent, even if it doesn't have one, it will still most likely have an accent when speaking aloud. Have you been reading and revising? Let's see.
How would you say thank you so much? Want to have the answer? Struggling? Have you got it yet? Ah there we go.
The correct answer would be "merci beaucoup."
So, did you get it right? Good. Now let's move on to the next chapter.
