In the bloom of my youth.
I found a rose that shined with light.
In a world of madness she was my sanity. Bringing joy to a heart as black as night.

We knew everything about each other.
Every motive thought and dream.
I was convinced you would be the last to harm me.
Oh how wrong I was, when yore soft words turned into a scream!

When I reached to you in kindness.
You drove yore thorns deep into my flesh.
And left me in the wilderness to die.
I was alone with a mined that could only obsess.

Meany years have past sense then.
And the warmth of forgiveness from my heart you truly earned.
But more then friendship I will never give back to you.
For a rose I will adore you as, but to this rose, I shall never return.
