It had been years since Charlotte Jones had been in this old town, she had moved when she was much younger to Queens and made many friends, but now she was back. Her short hair was in a spiky cut, which framed her olive skinned face--she cut her hair herself so of course it looks good. She was seventeen, but looked a bit older and seriously acted like it. On her last day in Brooklyn, she said goodbye to her friends at school, to which they all cried out how much they should miss her but she didn't believe them, none but one. They had known either side birth it seems, her and Steve, his boyfriend Bucky wasn't very friendly with her but she didn't care. "See you on the otherside Audrey," he joked around and hugged her. "Promise me you will write?"
"Promise," she replied, "even though texting would be waaaaaay faster." The tall girl laughed a bit, wiped away some tears and went to her car to drive home, she felt her throat catch as she started it, then drove away without looking back.

After a week of unpacking, Charlotte had gone back to school, and she did NOT like it. She was in the Bronx, filled with the small minded people she grew up around in a tiny neighborhood. She hadn't even talked to anyone under the age of 45 since she moved in and was quite agitated, so she decided to write a letter to Steve.
Plugging in her headphones she shuffled her music and let it play for a while. Her school was not the worst, nor the nicest building she had been to, but the memories made it terrible. Her older brother went her when she was little, he was her best friend.
When he left for college, she was heartbroken. They don't talk very much anymore because he was busy being a monk or something. All she knew was that he was in Kathmandu Nepal, learning about some "weird voodoo shit" as she liked to say. Her class schedule was nearly the same as her other one at her old school; English, Honors Algebra, Advanced Junior English, and AP US History. She also had two electives, but she decided to make them free periods. She made one friend, some girl in her Science class named Shuri. "I'm an exchange student, from Africa." The smaller girl smiled when Charlotte asked what her accent was. "I am from a small country, you wouldn't know it." Charlotte just shrugged. "Sounds nice. must be a big change from this place..." She motioned outside and the packed afternoon traffic-jam. "Yes, very much so." Shuri replied. "How can you sleep at night, with the noise?" She would ask in her thick accent. "I just wear headphones. listen to some jams. I like oldies for sleeping I guess," Charlotte replies, "Steve would make me playlists from the 40's, He loved them."
"Who's Steve?" Shuri raised her eyebrows. "A boyfriend?"
"No, he has one. He's my best friend from Brooklyn." Charlotte sighed and thought about their adventures.
"Oh, he sounds nice. Whats he like?"
"He's tall as hell, built like a god. Total dork. "
