A boy around 16 ran out of a small apartment, he had black long hair with brown eyes peeking through, and even though he was 16, he was about five foot.He had been late to his job a lot recently, and he didn't think he could afford to lose it. He ran down all the side roads through the warm summer air and through the shortcuts he had found
throughout the city. He finally arrived and checked his small watch he had won while at an arcade." Yassss, I am not late, no child tables for me." He walked into the fancy restaurant he worked at and to the kitchens. It was a large white one-story building with a high ceiling and lots of windows, with a large red glowing sign in the front that read Maloons.A burly man in a chefs outfit walked toward him angrily." Hey chef! Wassup!" His eyebrows turned down." You are an hour late, how are you going to explain it this time!" He looked at him confused and pulled a crumpled paper with his schedule on it and saw that he had mistaken today for the day before." Oh, shit, I'm so sorry sir, I saw the wrong time, I really thought I got here early today." The chef shook his head and put his face in his palm." Ok, yeah, sure, just get your apron on and get out there, we've been low on staff tonight since the twins are out on vacation, and Tom called out sick!" He nodded and ran to the rack of aprons. He found his on the rack and shoved it over his head." Alright, here we go!" He walked to the entrance and opened the door for a couple, the woman was in a black sparkly short dress and her blonde hair came down to the hem of her dress, and the man was in a suit with a black tie, his hair gelled back." Hello you two, I can help you with your table." They looked him up and down seeing his scruffy long hair up in a ponytail and under his apron a black butler shirt with his torn up jeans and old sneakers along with it. They sneered but allowed him to take them to a table. He smiled, pulled out a small booklet as they sat down and put down drink and food menus." Hello, I am Akira, I'll be your waiter for tonight, would you like to order your drinks yet, or would you like some time to think about what you would like?" The woman looked up at him and smiled." Oh, I'd just like water." He wrote down in his booklet and looked at the man she was with." Have you figured out what you want yet?" The man pointed to one of their fine blackberry wines." Could I have a bottle of one of these." Akira nodded and wrote it down, he took the drink menus." Alright, I'll be back with your drinks, look through the menu and try to find what you'd want to eat." They nodded as he walked back to the kitchen. He grabbed the glass of wine and set it on a tray with two glasses, with a glass of iced water. He walked over to them and set their drinks and glasses down." Are you two ready to order yet, or do you want me to come back in a bit?" The man shook his head." Yeah, we're ready." They ordered and he wrote it down in his booklet." Alright, would you like a salad with that." She shook her head and he nodded and headed back to the kitchen to give the chef their order. Once their food came up he got it to them. They paid their bill and he moved on. Once he was done with his shift he took off his apron and ran back home to the apartment complex he lived in. He stopped when the old lady he lived by started talking to him." Hey, young man, you need a haircut, come help me with my flowers sometime." She was a small woman with overly large and thick glasses with her remaining hair pulled back into a tight bun. She pulled out a watering can and started to water her small flower garden. He smiled and walked back to his room. He flopped down onto his bed that consisted of a pile of blankets and grabbed some leftover pizza from his small fridge by his bed. After he ate he set his alarm for school the next day. He fell asleep slowly and drifted into a dream filled sleep. He saw a man in his dreams. He was around his age, but was much stronger and at least a foot or so taller. He had orangey red hair and blue eyes. The man reached out to Akira and he slowly faded away." No wait! Don't leave!" He tried to grasp around where the man had been but there was just empty darkness. After that, his dreams drifted around until his alarm clock went off. He woke up and groaned. Smashed the snooze on his alarm clock, and sat up and turned it off."Aggg, definitely morning." He started wondering about the man he had seen in his dream. "He was really handsome....." he thought aloud as he got up and took a towel to the shower house and took a shower. Once he got out he got back up to his room and changed into his school uniform. It was a black blazer with white outlines and a white undershirt with black pants to go with it. He put his black tie on with what little tie-tying skills he had, grabbed his old backpack and ran out the door. He ran out the exit and jumped into his bike. He tried to manage his hair as he rode into the city. The city slowly turned into a leafy countryside as he rode farther away from where he lived, and the sun started to rise in the sky turning the skyline from a dark blackish blue to a hazy pink.Riding down dirt roads and backways he found the academy. It was a big building filled with windows that had a high green roof and tall lights going up and down the main lot. Akira put his bike in the rack and walked up to the entrance. His hair was still kind of scruffy, even though his attempts to brush it, his sneakers were old and falling apart, his uniform had gotten slightly faded from sitting in his window for too long, and his tie was probably not tied correctly. He walked through the entrance to the school and bumped into a man. "Oh, sorry, I wasn't watching-" he looked up and blushed. It was the man from his dream last night. Akira bolted past the man and to the front sign-in desk for new students. A woman with a pair of silver glasses peered up at him." Hello, if you are a new student please sign in." She handed him a pen and some papers that he started to fill out. He was still so nervous from meeting the guy in his dream that he almost spelled his last name wrong." Oh." He wrote down his name correctly and handed the papers to the woman. She looked through them and smiled at him." Well hello, Mr. Shiraishi, your homeroom is down the hall, very last one on the right." Her bored tone had changed dramatically from seeing his last name and People heard his last name and started to whisper. His parents were very important people, he had been born into a very rich family, but he had never been stuck up by knowing this. He always just helped as many people as he could with the money they gave him. Also he watched a lot of anime. But his parents shipped him off to here and he was left broke to fend for himself, they pay for his schooling but that's it. Akira stopped at the locker that was on his student sheet and turned it until it unlocked. He put his stuff in his locker and headed to the 300 hallway. He walked down the hall and stopped at the last classroom to the right. Akira opened the door and saw rows of desks with students filling the most of them. The teacher noticed him and waved him over. "Hello, I'm Mr.Yight, I will be your homeroom teacher for this year, what's your name?" He nodded and answered." I'm Akira Shiraishi." The teacher looked amazed." I didn't believe it, you are the son of the Shiraishi's!" Everyone looked his way and started to whisper again." Oh great...." The bell rang as a guy with orange hair and blue eyes ran through the door." Hey!! I made it!!" It was the man from his dream. He walked over towards the seats and sat down near the back."Shinjo, how many times do I have to tell you to come before the bell!" He shrugged and pulled out a book." Mr. Shiraishi go sit by Shinjo, to his right."Akira nodded and walked over to his desk. He looked down at the desk and saw many drawings and scratches on the top of it." Hey, you're the kid I bumped into right?" Akira looked over to see the orange haired man, apparently Shinjo, talking to him." Uhh...oh yeah, sorry bout that, just wasn't looking where I was going." Shinjo shook his head." Hey it's fine, happens to me a lot, so you skip a year or two or something, you are kinda small for you to be around my age." Akira shook his head." No, I'm small for my age, also I don't work out too much, I'm 16 by the way, my birthday was two months ago..." A silence came over them as Mizukis face turned from curiosity to surprise." Wha... wha? That means you're actually a few months older than I am..." Akira nodded as the teacher started class up." Alright everyone get out your notebook, we are going to write down some things prior to the quiz next hour the school will be taking." Akira got his binder and unzipped it to find his notebook. He had forgotten to put all his papers in the pocket of his binder, so papers just came spilling out all around him." Oh shi...." Akira started to pick them up when his black butler pin fell out of his undershirt."Ahh.." Shinjo had picked up a few papers." What the....are these theories? About anime??" Akira grabbed his papers quickly as Shinjo handed him the papers he was holding." Yah, I like anime." He put the papers in his binder as he saw Shinjo looking at a picture Akira had drawn." Wow you're really good, is this supposed to be me....?" Akira blushed and looked down as Shinjo put the picture on his desk. "Hey do you think you could draw a horse, my sister is completely obsessed with them! Also how did you draw this not knowing what I look like?" Akira nodded."Yeah, and.....long story." The teacher had written down a list of facts during the small commotion and Akira started to copy them down. After class ended Akira headed to his next class." Hmmm, room 408, 409, ah 410." He found his next class and walked in to find the classroom already full, and the teacher at the chalkboard writing things down. Akira looked and still saw students in the hall." I'm not late am I?" The teacher laughed." No, we just start really early, come in, You're Shiraishi right?" He nodded and sat down in one of the back row seats and looked up at the board.*Pews testing today, take out your book and pencil, your test will be handed out once bell rings*. He took out his pencil and grabbed his manga he had been reading, and set the rest of his things on the floor and started to study the paper he had from homeroom. He got down the list down and started reading till the bell rung." Alright class, you have the rest of the day to do this test, some of its multiple choice! Alright get started." His teacher had handed out the tests and everybody's day started. Once they were done their teacher sent them to lunch and Akira saw Shinjo again." Hey! Shinjo! I almost got that picture done, I was working on it after I got the test done!" Shinjo looked at him and smiled and Akira's heart almost burst, he looked down trying to hide his reddening face." Uhh, yeah, anyways umm, do you want to eat lunch together..." Shinjo nodded." Sure, i'd like to get to know the new kid." Akira looked up his face still slightly red." Hey, you don't have to be nervous about talking to me, I know I might be big and intimidating, but I'm really a big softie once you get to know me, but if anyone messes with my sister....." Akira walked into the lunch line." Yeah, I get it, my brothers are really overprotective of me whenever I see them." Akira pointed to the A lunch and went to sit down. Shinjo came over and sat by him." Hey Shiraishi, do you do anything after school? I was thinking you could come and see one of my soccer games some time?" Akira nodded." Yeah, I work at Maloons,it's the fancy restaurant on Park Street, ever heard of it?" Shinjo shook his head and pulled out a piece of paper." No, I haven't, but maybe I could stop by someday I have off of soccer." The bell rang signaling the end of the half-day and everybody headed to their lockers.Akira bolted to where his locker is and Shinjo chased after Akira." Hey wait! You still haven't explained about the picture you drew of me!" He caught up to him within seconds." Hey, why'd you bolt off?" Akira had opened his locker and quickly grabbed his backpack and shoved his folder into it." I have work very soon, and I..... no my boss probably will have a heart attack if I show up late one more time." Shinjo nodded to show he got what was going on." Ahh, would you like a ride then?" Akira nodded and started towards the entrance at a fast pace." Yeah, my shift starts at two, we'd have to hurry!" Akira looked at his watch that read one thirty." It's one thirty now, do you know the way?" Shinjo shook his head but pulled out his phone." No but I can have my chauffeur use his phone to look up directions." Akira nodded, being all to familiar with chauffeurs from his childhood." Ok, yeah does your chauffeur not have a phone of his own?" Shiraishi shook his phone." He's not allowed to have his while driving, might prove as a distraction, but I usually let him use mine when looking up directions." They headed outside and a warm blast of air came at them." Wow, it's warm today." Shiraishi exclaimed as a black car pulled up to them." Ah hello Mr.Shinjo, you have a guest I see!" Shinjo opened the door for Akira." Yes this is Akira Shiraishi." The driver looked back amazed and expecting a high class looking kid, but saw a small scruffy haired kid with a faded uniform." Ehh.....like the Shiraishi's?" His chauffeur sounded surprised." Yes, he comes from the Shiraishi family." Akira nodded but looked a little uncomfortable with this discussion." Yeah.....even though my parents kinda kicked me out once I turned 16, I miss my brothers a lot......" A silence hung over them until the directions on Mizuki's phone started." Hey, so you work at this fancy restaurant?!" Akira shrugged and looked at his watch." Yeah, but my boss doesn't really like me coming late." They took a lot more main roads than Akira was used to, but they made it in time." Alright, thanks for the ride, cya." He had gotten out of the car, waved at Mizuki, and ran inside.
