"I think this is the place..." Evan mumbled to himself. He looked out the window of his car and stared at the building ahead. It was a huge house, you know, the kind that you would see on a magazine. Evan grabbed the duffel bag sitting on the passenger seat and opened the door of his car. He stepped out and slammed the door shut.Smitty had wanted Evan to pay Lui right away. Why, Evan had asked, Smitty said it'd be better go pay and try to befriend Lui. Evan argued but Smitty won the fight easily. The whole crew agreed (Marcel was called) and decided to split the payment. So each of the crew member had 5k. The payment was all in the bag, packed neatly as well.
Evan walked up the steps that led to the entrance. He hesitated before he forced his hand up to knock. He waited for a few seconds till he heard footsteps. He straightened up a bit before the door opened.
Instead of Lui, there stood a man. He looked around his early-twenties. Evan assumed that it was one of Lui's workers.
Evan forced a smile,"Hey, I have a payment to Lui Calibre." Evans said. The man nodded and stepped aside for Evan to enter. Evan scurried in and the man shut the door.
"Follow me." The man ordered.
Evan nodded and the man led Evan around the maze-like house. Evan awed at Lui's house, it was elegant and fresh. The house seemed like it was mostly white, red, and pink due to the decor. Guards were everywhere and every time Evan passed by, they would glare at him. Evan seemed unwanted and he just wanted to leave already. What seemed like hours of walking through hallways and up the stairs, the man stopped.
"Wait in the kitchen straight ahead, I'll call him." He said. Evan watched as the man left him and went down the stairs. He started walking forward and he ended up in a kitchen.
"Who the hell would have a kitchen on the second floor?" Evan whispered to himself.
"I would actually." A new voice spoke. Evan jumped and turned around, seeing a new face. He looked older than Evan, not by much, but older. He had silky, brown hair and brown eyes to go with. He didn't look menacing but warm and welcoming. Evan noticed that the man's left arm with bandaged up and hidden with a sweater that he wore.
Evan straightened up,"I'm sorry, I'm here for Lui Calibre." he said.
The man nodded,"Oh, well we can wait for him in the kitchen." He said awkwardly. The man walked into the kitchen and shook Evan's hand in greeting.
"Sorry for the comment, I just thought it was nice that you have a kitchen on the second floor." Evan apologized.
The man shook his head,"No, it's fine really. Everyone says it all the time." He chuckled.
"I'm Evan, nice to meet you." Evan introduced himself.
"I'm Droidd, you can call me Arlan if you'd like." He smiled. Evan sighed in relief, finally someone that wasn't an asshole to him.
Evan smiled,"You may call me Ev as well." Evans said.
"Would you like anything to drink? We have juice, beer, water..." Arlan asked.
"Water sounds great, thank you." Evan smiled. Arlan nodded and went to the cabinets for a glass. Evan watched as Arlan filled up the cup and add ice with his right arm. Evan cringed because he didn't know if he should help Arlan or not.
Arlan slid the cup to Evan,"Enjoy." Arlan smiled. The two stood in awkward silence, Evan would occasionally sip his water. Evan decided to start a conversation with Arlan.
