"Quick! Follow me!" Lucia shouted to her sister Piera. Lucia darted off through the crowd, Piera following swiftly behind.
Lucia, trying not to bump into anyone, was running faster than she had ever ran before. She was weaving between the crowds to get to her location.
"Hurry!" she exclaimed
"Slow down! You're going too fast!" Piera complained
"We can't miss it!" Lucia proclaimed.
She span round people, slid through people's legs and even jumped over a few short people!
Then she reached it.
The Grand Carnevale (carnival) in venice
There were lights and flags decorating all the surrounding buildings. They were strung from building to building as if to connect each house.
It's visitors all wore elegant costumes and luxurious masks encrusted with all types of expensive jewels and gems that glistened like stars
Lucia fit right in. She wore a lengthy red dress that reached all the way down to her ankles. It's elegance was unmatched. It bore white rings around the wrists, elbows and shoulders and was made out of the finest velvet in all of venice
The dress means a lot to her mother, Francesca, so Lucia did her best to keep it in prime condition. There was so much going on. There were people juggling colossal flaming blades, there were stands to buy Carnival masks and there were even animals there.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Lucia said to Piera while still gazing at it. There was no answer.
"Piera?" Lucia turned around and Piera was nowhere in sight. She began to worry that she was lost in the crowds somewhere.
"Piera!" Lucia began shouting at the top of her lungs to see if her sister would reply.
She never did.
Lucia retraced her steps, following the same path she ran to get to the Carnevale. It didn't take long but she found Piera. But it wasn't where she expected.
She found her in an alley a little way away from the carnival. An old man with slick black hair was holding her tight in his arms. Piera was swinging her arms and legs to try and escape but the man was too strong.
"What's a nice young girl like you doing out here alone?" The man asked, getting as close to Piera's ear as possible as if to taunt her as she couldn't do anything to stop him.
"Let me go!" She screamed
"It won't be that easy, little girl." The man taunted once more.
"Let her go!" Lucia emerged from around the corner.
"Get off of her! You maiale! (pig)" She threatened once more.
"What did you just call me?" The man questioned as he threw Piera to the ground. Piera grunted in pain as shit hit the cold concrete.
"Go home Piera!" Lucia commanded with a look of fierce anger on her face directed towards the man
The man slowly moved towards Lucia with a terrifying confidence. This scared Lucia and her anger turned to fear. She began moving away from him until he backed her up against the wall of a building.
"Don't even think about moving." The man demanded.
Lucia raised her hand and, with all her might brought it down towards the man's face, but the man caught her arm just before she could land her attack.
