~Macy’s POV~

Macy got up. It was the day after her 17th birthday. She looked to see that it was not even dawn yet. Crap, I need to stop waking up so early! Macy looked around her room. It looked normal, the Victorian-style room was lit up by a single candle. Macy saw that her closet door was open, weird. She looked down to see that she was just in her undergarments. “Hmm, what happened?”

She just sat in bed and contemplated about the events that had recently taken place. Her mother, Jasmine DeRusse, had thrown a little party at their home. Macy didn’t remember everyone who was there, but she did see a familiar face. Jasmine always was trying to make sure that Macy affiliated with people in the ‘real world’.

Macy’s bedroom door creaked open, “Macy, sorry if I awoke you. It wasn’t my intention at all...I....I

just had to go to the bathroom.” Macy couldn’t believe her weary eyes. Standing in front of her was a physique that was beyond perfect. A face that had no mistakes, and messy hair that looked so delicate and soft that it could be mistaken for a feather. When Macy got out of the haze he had looked her in, she studied the greenish-blue eyes seductively studying her.

“Devin...I-It wasn’t you, don’t worry.” He just smiled his famous half smile and shook his head. “It’s fine, Macy, I know I am pretty loud, but I have to go. Based on the history of our families, it’d be safer if this was kept on the down low, unless we really are confident about our relationship, you know.” Macy just shook her head in agreement. Devin just turned around and slipped out. Macy and Devin’s families haven’t always agreed on everything in their past, even now they’re walking on eggshells. If they found out about this, then the scraps that their families have picked up from their pasts, will for sure be demolished.

After he left, Macy got up. She walked around her room looking for signs about what may have happened last night. She already had a pretty good idea about what happened, but she didn’t ask him because she didn’t want to face the reality of it, if it was true. She walked over to her sitting area and saw her clothes in a messy ball.

She picked them up and looked to see that they had been ripped on the back. “Rough night!” She sarcastically whispered to herself. She didn’t want to go back into her slumber, so she decided to tidy up her room and hide any and all traces of what happened last night.

She looked by her phone. It lit up and she saw that it was from Devin. Great! She thought as she slid the screen to unlock her phone.

Macy,

It’s Devin! Look I had a great time last night. But, you know...I am with Maggie, I would totally dump her for you...But, you know it is weird, considering the obvious. I had a great time last night! And when it comes time, I will dump Maggie, but for now...let’s keep this on the down-low. After I send this, I am deleting it. I advise you to do the same as well.

For now, goodbye.

Macy leaned back on the chair she was near. She was such and idiot, of course he was with Maggie, and yet she still had the nerve to get with him. She deleted that message, but she couldn’t help feeling guilty about it. Especially since, she would see Devin for breakfast tomorrow. She sat there for the next few hours and thought about her strategy for this, until she heard the rooster crow once, 6 am, twice 7 am, three times 8 am. The time everyone was awake.

Macy changed into something presentable. She went down to the parlour, she passed Maggie’s room on the way there and saw that the door was open, Hm...Just the maids, I guess. Macy walked downstairs. “Hello Mother, Father.” She said as she sat in her appropriate seat. “Macy, say hello to your sister and to Devin.” Macy looked at Devin very quickly, he was shyly smiling, she then looked back down at her lap. “Hello Maggie, Hello Devin.” They both answered in sync a very quiet “Hello Macy.”

When Macy finished eating her breakfast, her Mother immediately told them the list for the day. Macy, Maggie and Devin had to go into the city today. How Fun! Macy bantered to herself as she retreated to her room to get ready for the day. She closed the door and opened her closet. She had it separated into sections. There was; Dresses, very classy and ladylike for her family. Pajamas, something to easily change in and out of, mainly used for around the house. Citywear, the most modern of her clothes, obviously. Most of them were hand-me-downs from Maggie, though.

She got a pair of flannel shorts and a black shirt with a white flower painted on it. She got a pair of red vans to wear with it too. When she was done changing into that, she went over to her makeover stand, grabbed a ponytail holder and put her hair in a neat bun. She grabbed her Tiffany Co. sunglasses, and left. When she got to the front of the steps, she saw that Maggie wasn’t there yet, meaning Macy got to drive. Yes! she finally got to drive.

When Devin and Maggie retreated, Macy mockingly smiled at Maggie, and patted to the passenger seat, just as Maggie would do to her. Maggie, just faked a smile. She sat down and Devin sat in the back. Macy looked at her sister’s blonde hair curled neatly around her face. She was almost wearing the exact same thing as Macy, just the shirt was a little different. Her shirt was white with a red heart on it. Devin was wearing some swim shorts and a baggy light blue t-shirt.

When they arrived to their destination, Macy’s confusion level immediately rose, they were at a clothing store. Maggie immediately ran inside while Devin pulled Macy aside, “Look, Macy I don’t want it to be weird between us, so I have a friend for Maggie. I am going to dump her today, and I want to be with you.” Before Macy could speak he kissed her. “Dev-” “Shh...Macy, look I know that you are worried about your parents, but they’ll understand.” He basically read her mind, that was exactly what she was thinking. He got a text and Macy got the feeling it was Maggie because, he stopped staring at Macy and dragged her inside.

They caught up with Maggie, she was at the swimsuit section, not surprising since it was coming up to summer. Maggie picked out a bikini for her and she had a few selections for Macy. “Macy, hey try these on. They’re cute and I think that you and I will be like...totes twins! Well, we already are by blood, but nobody would really be able to tell!” Macy looked at the bikinis, they were skimpy and barely covered anything, but Macy tried them on just to satisfy her sister. Every outfit, Maggie said, “Oh my gosh! Macy, that is the one!” Macy just laughed at her sister’s eagerness. Finally Maggie picked one out. When Macy compared it to the rest, she saw that her sister had picked the skimpiest one. “Ok, next on the list....FOOD!” Devin laughed, “Aww yea, my favorite time of the day!” Maggie just laughed and gave him a delicate kiss on the cheek.

When they left, Maggie was able to drive and they arrived half an hour later than they would’ve if Macy drove. They ate at a very famous restaurant in the heart of Los Angeles. Macy got her food first and it pissed off Maggie. Maybe Devin had told Maggie about last night, because the two of them were behaving very awkwardly. “So Macy, what did you do at your party yesterday?” Maggie said with a hint of grief in her tone. Her eyes sagged down to her plate and she didn’t look up until Macy began talking. “Oh, well it was....weird, I didn’t know anyone from the party.” Maggie just lightly shook her head.

When their meal was finished, Maggie let Macy drive back to the mansion. It was dead silent on the way there and then when they pulled up, she didn’t even wait for the car to go into park, she just got out and slammed the door. When Macy parked in the garage, she looked in the rearview mirror and signaled to Devin with what was wrong. He explained to her that he told Maggie about last night and that they need to see other people. Macy yelled at Devin, Devin apologized and they “made up”. They finally got out of the car and when Macy walked to the door, she saw someone with teary eyes. Crap! Macy thought to herself as she saw this sobby person in front of her look at Macy with disgust.
