That Friday morning wasn't special at all.
Mitch had woken up, taken a shower, brushed his teeth, styled his hair and was now walking towards Starbucks to get coffee for both Scott and him.
It was really early, so the streets weren't too crowded. Mitch liked that; usually when there were a lot of people he felt...observed, like everybody was watching every single move he did, every step he took.
Maybe it was just another effect of his anxiety.
He never really liked being the center of attention. On Superfruit videos, he always acted like a sassy, funny and self confident person. But that was because he had Scott next to him. And Scott always brought the best of Mitch.
But when he was alone, that Mitch disappeared, he became more shy, introverted, anxious, insecure...
Because Scott make him feel like the best version of himself.
But when Scott wasn't there all his flaws, dark thoughts and bad habits returned to haunt his mind. And Mitch just didn't have the strength to pull them away.
Suddenly, Mitch felt a hand grab his shoulder, and he turned around a little too sharply.
He was met with a tall, pale, skinny guy, that seemed to be around his age. His dark hair was styled in an emo haircut, just like Mitch's. For some reason, that creeped him a little.
"Hey, I'm really sorry I scared you, but I saw you walking and just... You are Mitch Grassi and I''m like a huge fan of you, I'm literally obsessed with you and I love you and... could you please sign this for me?" The guy said, grabbing a pen and a picture of Mitch from his bag. Mitch wondered if he carried it everywhere, and that creeped him even more.
He was used to encounter fans in the street, and he didn't mind it at all, he really loved his fans but there was something... off with this guy.
Or maybe he was just being paranoid as always. Yeah, it was probably that.
"Ohh thank you so much! And sure, I can do that" He said, smiling as widely as he could.
Then he grabbed the picture and started writing the usual stuff on it. He wasn't really inspired, so he hoped a simple "love, Mitchie" and his signature would do.
He could actually feel the guy's eyes on him as he wrote, and he was surprised at how uncomfortable he felt.
"Thanks Mitch, this means the world to me" the guy said once he handed him the signed picture "would you mind if we take a selfie? He asked, taking out his cellphone.
"Of corse not! Come here." One picture, Mitch thought. One picture and he would leave.
The guy stood next to him and put his arm around him as he took the picture. Mitch tried to smile although he could feel all of his muscles tensing up.
"Perfect" said the guy once he was done. Then he looked directly at Mitch's eyes, and the tenor felt like he was looking through him. "Thank you so much, Mitch. This was the best day of my life"
And then, he hugged him.
Mitch wasn't prepared, so he stumbled back a little bit, but the guy didn't seem to notice. He just continued to hug him, moving his hands down through Mitch's back, until he was nearly touching his butt.
Mitch felt like he was about to have a panic attack.
He broke the hug, nearly pushing the guy away, breathing heavily.
The guy just smirked innocently but there was something... evil about it, Mitch knew it.
"See you soon Mitch" he said, before he walked away.
See you soon.
Mitch wondered what that meant.
