                   Leah's Diary part 1.

Dear diary, today i moved to the big apple, aka New York City. Big step for a 19 year old girl from Alaska. My apartment isn't that big but i find it really cute. Plus, i'm not a millionaire.
Maybe one day, if my artwork or lyrics will give me money. But for now, this is perfect.
My parents just left and i feel so empty but at the same time free to do whatever i want. I know i'm quite young to live by myself in a little apartment in a big freaking city but i like it. It's a fresh start for me.
I start working at a small coffee shop tommorrow that's right beneath my house. It's really artsy which fits me perfectly.
I'm thinking about going outside to just check the town out for a bit. Maybe take some photos. Also for grocery shopping. I really need to buy muffins and pot noodles, yup that's right, that's how i'll survive NYC. Through pot noodles, hundreds of redbulls and muffins.
Talking about all of this makes me sort of hungry, so i'll see you later tonight diary when i've gotten home from grocery shopping (if i don't get killed).

             ——Leah IRL——

I walk outside of my gate and down on the side walk, i walk by the coffee shop i'll start working at tommorrow. It's still open. It's quite late in the afternoon but they're open pretty late if i remember correctly. My shift tommorrow is from 9 am to 9 pm.
Quite a long day for my first day but they really needed the help and i need the cash so. It's early autumn so it's starting to become colder but you can still feel some of that summer warmth around you.
I walk into a small grocery shop called greendales, a girl with a nose ring and purple hair stands in the cash register looking awfully pissed at an old man remarking how unproffessional it is to let "someone like her" work there. I just couldn't stand by and just watch..

"Excuse me, old man?"
"Yes?" He turns around looking utterly shocked.
"You don't get to talk to her like that."
"And why not?"
"Because when you're a wrinkly ugly old man making fun of a hot girl it looks kinda cringey."
The girl bursts out laughing as the old man storms off.
"Thank you so much! I'm Cassidy." She says as she takes my hand to shake it.
"I'm Leah. I just couldn't stand by and just watch that dead skin try to talk you down."
"Yeah, it's starting to become kinda annoying by now, all these old men coming in to either complain about how i look or try to flirt with me. I even had a man try to exorcise me once."
"How did that go?" I jokingly said.
"Well.. Not so great since i'm still the way i was before!" She says and we both laugh.
"So.. I haven't seen you in this neighbourhood before, are you new here or just visiting?"
"I just moved in, actually.. Right above the coffee shop."
"Oh yeah! I love that coffee shop, i usually buy coffee to go there before going to work."
"Great! Because i'm starting to work there tomorrow and then we'll see each other more." I say and smile at her.
"Sure!" She says, smiling back.
