Chapter Five

I woke up from my crazy nightmare and laughed to myself. Loving Rose more than a best friend...Everyone thinks that. I would never do something as insane as pay a girl to force herself on Calum. That's insane. I would never do that to Rose.

Rose and I are best friends and today when she told me she was going out with Calum again, I was happy for her. She deserved him, and he deserved her. I told her that a while ago. I remember when I thought I loved Rose because of the feelings I had when I saw her with Calum...

Life was so much simplier before Rose and Calum started dating. I wouldn't get a weird feeling in my stomach when I saw them together. I never felt a pang of jealousy every time they talked. I didn't want to separate them...And before they were together...I never lied to Rose.

I have only lied to Rose once. I told her Calum cheated on her... It caused them to break up. At first I didn't care, but then I saw how miserable it made both of them. Everytime I went on Skype and talked to Rose, she would be crying. Calum was always upset, but I couldn't take back what I did, no matter how much I regretted it.

One day I told her that I lied about the cheating...But all she did was laugh. She told me I would never lie to her and that she saw him kiss a girl on the cheek in front of her outside of her favorite jewelry store. My heart shattered when I heard Calum did actually cheat on her... I lied before when I said he cheated... But he actually did.

That's when I realized I didn't love Rose...I was jealous of their relationship because I liked Calum. Rose, being my best friend and all, I told her. I told her I liked Calum a week after I realized my feelings weren't for her.

"Rose... I used to think I liked you.. I used to think that I loved you.. But then I realized that I don't. I never did," I confessed to Rose. She looked at me with shock. "I realized... I like Calum."

"Ashton.. If you like Calum...then go for it. It doesn't matter to me. I'm over Calum," Rose lied to me. I shook my head.

"Calum will never like me and I don't deserve a guy like him. Rose, I know I said he cheated, but I lied because I was jealous. But maybe what you saw wasn't what you thought it was...Please just talk to him. You guys belong with each other," I explained to her. She shook her head. "Please, Rose. I'm never going to come between you two again."

"I'm not going back to him, Ashton. I'm happy you've realized your sexuality and you've told me your mistake, but I know what I saw. He cheated...He had a bracelet and put it next to her wrist as she smiled and shook her head," Rose explained. I sighed...She'll never talk to him.

"Okay Rose..." I trailed off. Rose smiled.

"Now let's change the subject," Rose said as she smiled. "Do you have your eye on any cute boys?"

Rose wiggled her eyebrows and I laughed. Calum...I have my eyes on Calum.

Everyone thinks I hate Rose and Calum's relationship because I love Rose. It's really annoying. Rose has known the truth for about 4 to 5 months now. She's a great actress...She can hide any secret and act like she knows absolutely nothing. When Rose and I are alone, she talks about boys and clothes with me, and I laugh. But in front of everyone else, she acts like I'm not bisexual. She's a great friend for keeping it a secret, and I love her for that.

And because I love her, I'll try to get over Calum...

No matter how much I love him.
