This is continued from the last one shot.
One long night turns into three days with no sign or work from Namjoon, and Jin makes up his mind to do something drastic.
When Namjoon finally unlocks the front door at midnight, after being gone a full week, broken and ready to apologize, he's greeted by a nearly empty house. All traces of his husband having been taken off the walls and furniture missing. He feels his eyes water and when he makes if to the main room, Jin is sitting on the couch, suitcase beside him as he stares at the walls adjacent to them. Namjoon warily speaks his spouses name, so gently that it's barely audible "Jin..." Jin stands, eyes red and face blotchy "Namjoon.. I can't- I
can't do this anymore. I'm going to stay with Tae-Tae for a while... you've made it clear that I'm not important in your life.." Namjoon feels a tear fall, and he doesn't bother wiping it away because this is Jin. Kim Seokjin, the only human he's ever completely given himself to. Jin knows him inside and out, he's never felt the need to hide his feelings from the older but for some reason, the distance that's grown between them is the size of a chasm. He's never felt the need to hide his feelings, but the gap makes him lost for words. He can't get an apology out, or even plead for him to stay. It feels like the silence is choking him and for some reason he can't force himself to say a word. Jin looks down, shoulders shaking briefly before he stands back up, tears falling "you can't even bring yourself to say goodbye to me?" He shakes his head, left hand clenching the suitcase handle tightly while his free hand attempts to wipe the tears away "so that's it then? Eight years of being each other's worlds and you can't even say a fucking goodbye to your husband?!" Jin raises his voice, now angry and Namjoon flinches because the older hates cursing and only does when he's extremely upset. Namjoon opens his mouth to say something- anything, but Jin slaps him, weakly, and breaks down into sobs "I hate you... how could you just leave? How could you?!" Namjoon swallows thickly because he doesn't have an excuse, he was a coward who didn't want to have a fight and now he's loosing Jin forever because of his mistakes. Namjoon frowns, whispering "I'm sorry.." Jin scoffs quietly, shoving past the taller man, speaking lowly "the time to apologize was four days ago. Since it's so easy to leave, let's see how you like it." And with that said the door slams, leaving Namjoon with an empty home and a broken heart.Neither realize how hard it is to move on from each other. Jin doesn't sleep for weeks, and Namjoon can't bring himself to leave the house anymore.
Jin is thankful for Taehyung, on bad days, the happy college student makes everything okay. Jin is laying in bed, the day after his and Namjoon's court date, approximately six months after their break up. They are now officially single. The process had been heartbreaking, and what made it so much worse was the fact that Namjoon hadn't fought for anything. He'd willingly let Jin have the house back in the settlement and full custody of their dog Sunshine. Jin is set to move back in three days but he isn't sure if he can stand living in their home without the younger. Maybe that's why Namjoon didn't want it. Jin is so thankful for Taehyung who's been his shoulder to cry on and a goofy idiot to cheer him up. Today he doesn't bother going to work, his boss knows what he's been dealing with and after the decimation of his six year marriage he needs some time to grieve. Jin curls up further under the covers, hugging his Mario plushie that Namjoon won him at a fair four years ago to his chest. He closes his eyes as nuzzles his nose into it, it smells like Namjoon, the older used to spray his cologne on it in case the older ever missed him when he traveled for recordings. Jin's eyes water at the memories ignited by the scent, six months has flashed by and he doesn't feel any better about their decision to split up. He squeezes his eyes shut like it will somehow ease the pain, but it only makes the current tears fall and news ones to spring up. He hugs the plushie tighter and mumbles "I'm sorry Joonie... I was awful to you. I belittled you when you were only following your dreams... I'm sorry I never told you that. I should have said a lot of things..." he chokes back a sob, hearing the bedroom door shut, followed by a deep sigh. In an instant Tae has crawled under the covers and cuddled into the older man's side, gently humming one of Jin's favorite songs.
