1. Alec's First Christmas

For this competition I had to write a Xmas story with Malec and another couple from another fandom. I chose Sanvers (Alex Danvers and Maggie Sawyer from Supergirl). Did anyone notice how similar their names are? Maggie and Magnus and Alex and Alec!!! 😂

It's just gonna be one part because I wouldn't know where to split it. I hope you like it (Especially you, MalecLovely )!

Please Note: this is set before Sanvers broke up (😭).

"Magnus, I'm-"

Alec froze when he saw the state of Magnus's loft. The entire place was covered with green and red streamers, balloons and other miscellaneous decorations.

Magnus emerged from the bathroom, his makeup matching the red and green theme. "Alexander! I was beginning to think you'd forgotten!"

Alec frowned. "You know I'd never forget something that's important to you," he said with a small smile. "Now, would you mind explaining to me why everything is red and green? And why have you got a big tree in the middle of the living room?"

Magnus looked confused. "Alexander, it's the 24th of December."

Alec matched Magnus's confused expression. "And?"

Magnus gasped. "Alec! You've never celebrated Christmas?!"

Alec only shook his head slowly. "What is Christmas?"

Magnus scoffed. " 'What is Christmas?'. Christmas is the best holiday of the year! I mean, it is a mundane holiday I guess. But it has a lot of angels in it! Shadowhunters are missing out. Look, I don't have time to give you the whole backstory. All you have to know is that we're hosting a Christmas party and there's going to be a lot of music and eggnog. Oh, and I've invited some special guests from quite far away."

"Um, alright then," Alec said, deciding to just go along with everything that Magnus was saying. Just then, the doorbell rang.

"Hurry up and change out of that dirty Shadowhunter gear, and I'll welcome our first guests!" Magnus commanded, pushing Alec into the bedroom.

Five minutes late, Alec emerged from the bedroom to find the loft already full of guests, including downworlders and surprisingly, his friends. Apparently, Clary had always celebrated Christmas before she found out she was a Shadowhunter and had wanted to come to the party, and she'd dragged Jace and Isabelle with her. Simon was the only one who wasn't present as he had opted to visit his family for Hanukkah, which is another holiday Alec didn't know about. Alec still wasn't sure who Magnus was talking about when he'd said they were expecting "special guests".

Suddenly, Alec heard a scream in the other room. He ran in to find two dark-haired women he didn't recognise. One was laying on the floor cradling her arm which was bleeding out. The other was fighting one of the newly-turned werewolves. Alec wasn't exactly sure what was happening but he knew he had to do something. In one quick movement, Alec grabbed the knife he always kept tucked in his shoe and threw it at the werewolf. It struck its target in the exact place Alec had wanted it to: its foot... well, paw. Not enough to permanently hurt the werewolf but it would be incapacitated for at least a few minutes before it's werewolf healing kicked in. Alec thought he would have to incapacitate the woman as well but as soon as the werewolf fell to the floor she dropped her weapon (one of Magnus's favourite candlesticks) and knelt next to the other woman.
