My name is Otedola Melanie Kenny. I'm a 5'8 Nigerian living and schooling in the US and a twin.  My twin sister, Otedola Adelaide Taiwo is the complete opposite of me.   In this life, there is one that in no I hate the most -racism. Living in New York has made me face a lot. One thing I've come to realize is that most whites still look down on blacks and think of us as lesser beings.  While I despised most whites for this trait, my sister adored them. She literally worshipped the ground they walked on which was later the cause of her untimely death.
Adelaide had always been obsessed with the white. She always wanted to be one of them. She was ashamed of her ethnicity  and was never around me in school.  She wanted to feel among and started following the rich and popular in our school who were all racist pigs.  They insulted her and told her that her skin looked like sh*t in pretense of advice. My sister had always taken this to heart. So it didn't come as a surprise to me when she started using her "cure" which happened to be various bleaches combined.
Dede, as I usually called her, started using her "cure" when we were in junior year. She used it for months and by the end of those months, I couldn't recognize my sister. We had no one to advice us because we were orphans and due to our melanin coloration, we were treated as servants in the orphanage. Dede became so white and pale it looked unnatural.  The popular girls started taking dede out,  buying all sorts of stuff for her. It was at that point I realized I had lost my sister.
She started wearing all sorts of short clothes to grab the attention of that popular males in our school.  She slept with so much guys that some people stopped calling her by her name and started calling her a wh*re. I tried advising her, begging her to stop while it was still early but it all fell on deaf ears.  I warned her to desist because she was still too young to get pregnant and could possibly get infected but she never cared to listen.  Then it happened...
