The wedding came and left like a speeding vehicle but they kept in touch, its what she said she wanted but truly was it?
In her rather usual fashion she was late for the pool party that her friend Cindy invited her to, on her arrival, she had to look around the hotel for them
"where could those miscreants be?" she thought aloud while looking for them, they were not in the pool and they were not in the bar. The only two places they would usually be, they can't possibly be late!
Her phone rang and it was Cindy
"Not funny! Where are you?" Sandra said with a frown
"So sorry but we cant make it on time, a friend of ours could keep you company while you wait for us. His name is knox and he is a really nice guy" she said as she dropped the phone not giving Sandra a chance to complain.
"is it me or are they setting me up with someone?" she thought to herself, fully intent on blowing this night and whoever their "friend" was off completely. She was not in need of any cheating creature with well carved abs.
Her phone rang and it was Knox, he sounded like a scared boy who had stolen some cookies from his grandmother's jar.
"where can I see you" he said
"at the bar" she replied rather curious to see this big baby her friends have set her up with.
She made her way to the bar scrutinizing every male that walked by asking in her mind, "was this him?"
"Sandra?" he said in what was much like the voice of an old lady
"knox?" she replied more in surprise than in response to his enquiry.
He was neither capable of cheating nor did he seem to have anything but flabs under his blue sweater. She was disappointed but could not bring herself to say that she was Sandra's friend and Sandra had to run off.
After what seemed like a century spent watching him talk about himself and his job at an investment company, while eating like the food wanted to escape she finally told him she wanted to go home.
"let me drive you home" he said
"never mind" she replied unable to look away from the sauce in his beard
"okay" he said
"just like that?" she thought to herself as she walked out of the relaxation complex surprised that he did not insist.
"you still owe me" a warm thick voice came from behind her. she turned around to find the guy she spilled coffee on a while ago, she was surprised he remembered her.
"so, do I pay in words because coffee is not an option" she said smiling at the best thing that had happened that day.
"how about dinner?" he opted
"nope" she replied with a smile playing on her face as she continued "I'll settle for drinks".

She woke up feeling a terrible headache and the room looked so bright, it took a while for her to figure out she was not in the dress she wore out. Then the images started coming back, she remembered vaguely a conversation that was mostly her talking and him smiling and replying in few words but just enough to let her know he was following. She also remembered trying to kiss him but that was all! Did she? Could she have?
"Good morning" his melodious and thick voice interrupted her thoughts again but this time he was the one with the coffee.
She was embarrassed and wanted to know what happened and what his name was but she felt too shy to ask. So, she did not say anything as she was still not sure what to say.
"we did not do it, if that's what you are worried about" he said with an all-knowing smile.
Her strong exhale confirmed her relief. He narrated how she was drunk and throwing up on him, telling him tales of her boyfriend and also how much she wanted to have sex with someone else.
After they had both had breakfast, he told her he had to go and gave her his card, that's when she saw his name James Mark.
