So, court...
My hearing was at 2pm I had to get a bus because my mom refused to drop me off and my dad was out of the country (as he had been almost always since the 'incident' with Abbie). He and my aunt were the only family members that didn't hate me now, mainly because my dad argues enough with my mum as it is, I honestly don't think he has the time or emotional bandwidth to argue or generally have strong emotions towards anyone else; and my aunt was extremely similar to me she, called things as they were and she knew what it was like coming second best to someone after all, my mother was her sister - she even had the same sarcastic outlook on life as I did, it was on par with mine.
Anyway, back to the hearing, I won't bore you with the nitty gritty of the law, because honestly I spent the whole time wondering what code they were talking in so I couldn't explain it even if I wanted to. After about an hour of debating and lawyers arguing, I was pronounced guilty of course because thats what I, and my provided lawyer pleaded, I got sentenced to 6 weeks community service helping to rebuild houses down at the poor end of town - not a place I went to very often.
So, starting in four days (the 11th day of summer break, and a monday) I would be "Jess" the girl who stole her poor and mentally unstable sister's medication and landed herself with a permanent record and an ever-growing pit in her stomach, dreading what was supposed to be the best summer of her life - as prior proclaimed by her ex-bestfriend Meredith, emphasis on the EX.
