SCENE 1: Park
- LIGHTS ARE GREEN -
ROSE is sitting STAGE LEFT under a tree reading a book. JACK enters from STAGE RIGHT. He sees ROSE, and immediately falls in love with her. ROSE isn't the brightest and is reading her book upside-down - and to top it off....it's a picture book. ROSE is dressed delicately and presents herself nicely. JACK is wearing a nice set of clothes - giving the appearence of class.
Jack: [Aside] I’m taken by her beauty. Oh, how much she glows. She will be mine. I’m in love and it’s only been ten seconds! I must talk to her. *Walks to Rose* Hi Miss. I couldn’t help notice you from afar, and let me just say you are as B – E – A – UUUUUTIIIIFULLLLL.
Rose: *Blushes* Thank you. You’re beautiful too. I mean pretty! Wait you’re Hansel and Gretel! Uh.... *Facepalm* handsome.
Jack: *Laughs* [Aside] Not the brightest star in the sky, but a star nether the less.
Rose: *Stands and looks at watch* I have to go. It was nice meeting you…uh?
Jack: My name is Jack. And you are?
Rose: My name is Rose.
Jack: We must meet again. Tomorrow, here. Say you will be here. At four o’clock. *Jack grabs her hands*
Rose: Of course!
[BOTH EXIT]
SCENE 2: Jennifer’s room.
- LIGHTS ARE WHITE -
ROSE and her best friend JENNIFER are sitting in her room discussing her meeting with JACK. ROSE is sitting on the edge of JENNIFER's bed. JENNIFER is dressed much like ROSE.
Jennifer: I am so happy for you girl!
Rose: He is something out of a cliché melodrama.
Jennifer: Of course! Have you decided what you are going to wear? After all, it is a date.
Rose: Hmmm, *Ponders* Pink!
Jennifer: Perfect!
Rose: *Looks at the time* I have to go to work now. I’ll text you tomorrow after and tell you all about it! [EXIT]
Jennifer: *Pulls out phone and text’s scheming*
SCENE 3: Park
- LIGHTS ARE GREEN -
JACK and ROSE are dancing and having fun in the park. SHANEQUA and LATINA come to the front of the stage scheming. They have iPhones. They are dressed in 'Swag clothing' (eg. Snapbacks)
Shan: Time to get out my binocular app! Opps! Wrong way. *Looks at Rose and Jack across the way* She is so dumb, that girl will never see it coming!
Latina: Oh dayum she is!
Shan: So, what is the plan?
Latina: We will take her for our posse. But we need the perfect time to strike.
Shan: *Laughs* And then our posse will be complete!
Latina: MWAHAHAHAHAHA.
Shan: Don’t. Ever. Do. That. Again. You bring shame on the homies.
[EXIT OFF LEFT]
Jack: Rose, there is something I need to say.
Rose: Of course Jack. Say it. *Jack grabs Rose's hands*
Jack: My heart is a flood of natural events, oceans of emotions over – flowing me. Never have I seen more beautify then I witness now. My heart will be forever yours to cherish it forever and always. For as long as I can, I will want you. As long as you want me to, and longer if I may. Forever will never be enough time with you. Rose, you are my goddess of love! I never believed in love at first sight, until the day I met you. Rose... *Get's down on one knee*
