The Rogue Mage

Chapter 1

     "This is a terrible idea," Stark said, tilting his chair back while squinting at Strange.

 "What on earth makes placing an incredibly powerful mage with your team a bad idea?" Strange asked, his voice tired.

 "Remind me again why you won't join the team?" Stark asked, his voice petulant. 

  Natasha rolled her eyes, glancing at Steve, who had remained completely impassive throughout the entire conversation. To be honest, Steve didn't care if another mage was added to the team, he'd be leaving soon anyway. 

  "I have loyalties elsewhere," Strange continued, "Besides, I'm not an elemental mage; so this could actually be considered an upgrade."

 "Joy- so what I'm getting is you've got to track down this kid and hope she's on our side. If she's not, she'll incinerate everyone."

 "Let it go Tony," Steve said quietly. "If Doctor Strange thinks that this girl will be a good addition to the team, then we recruit her. It's not about how we fell about her personally, if people are safer with this mage in the team, then it's not up for debate.

  "Alright then," Stark said, "How do we find her?"

 "My intel leads me to believe that Kimera is sheltering in a small village in Egypt currently. Myself and perhaps one or two of your team will go and collect her as soon as possible." Strange pulled his cloak back on.

  "Hold up- her name is Kimera? Sounds a lot like a Chimera; as in some sort of horrid monster?" Stark asked, grinning.

 "Kimera's parents were," Strange paused, evidently trying to find the right word, "Unusual people." 

   "Sounds like. Anyway, how about Steve and Natasha head out with Strange to go collect our new member?"

 "Understood," Steve said, standing up and walking stiffly to the door. 

 As soon as the door closed, Stark glanced at Natasha, "What's Capsicle's problem?"

 "You know."
