"Friendship improves happiness, and abates misery, by doubling our joys, and dividing our grief."
– Cicero
Meet my bestie. Tethys and I literally grew up together; we've known each other since we were three. Crazy, fun and all-round awesome, she is undoubtedly one of the few constant presences in my life - and my biggest critic, besides myself.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. What's the story behind your username (or pen name)?
I'm a chatterbox. And my bestie once used the term 'babbling brook' to describe me. Another friend twisted it around to make it Tethys Brooke, uncannily similar to my real name.
( :D )
2. Do you like music? If yes, what's on your playlist at the moment?
Yes. Can't imagine a day without music! Currently, I'm into:
-> Taylor Swift- The Last Time
-> Delta Goodrem- Wish You Were Here
-> Pharrell Williams- Happy
-> FUN- Carry On
-> One Republic- Counting Stars
(I'm rocking to 'Happy' on repeat as I'm fixing this up.)
3. What is your favourite performing art?
Western Vocals. Though I'm not trained. I just LOVE singing!
4. Would you rather be a performer or work behind the scenes?
Usually I like staying behind the scenes. But sometimes, once in a blue moon, I just have to hog the spotlight.
(Go, Silvertongue! *wink* )
5. What are your favourite foods? (List as many as you like)
1) Paneer! Oh! Paneer anything!
2) Chocolate Sponge Cake topped with glossy ganache
3) Ilish maacher jhaal! *drool*
4) Cream pasta
5) to cut it short 'mom-made anything'.
(I completely agree. Especially with the last one. Her cooking is AMAZING ♥ )
6. Where would you go if you could travel anywhere? And why?
I'd want to travel to Ireland! James Joyce, Yeats, Synge. Then The Script! The greyscale effect! And the lilt...gosh!
(*sigh*)
7. Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, coffee or mint?
Chocolate!
8. What languages do you speak? Where and how did you learn them?
I speak English, Hindi and Bengali. English, we were taught at school. Bengali is my mothertongue and Hindi I picked up from friends. Another friend is teaching me Spanish (poor thing, I'm giving him such a hard time). Que interesante, sí?
(Sí, muy interesante.)
9. Do you have any special talents you'd like to share?
Yes. I am a champion at falling in love with gay men. That does count as talent, right?
(I guess...... O_o)
10. Do you have a favourite from among your works?
'His Women' is very special to me. Shiv is someone I know very closely. The situations are fictional though!
11. Can you tell us something about it you haven't shared before?
Titli is actually me. I was finding it hard to express the dynamics at first. Then just one conversation with Shiv and lo!
12. Who is/are your favourite author(s)?
Among classics, David Copperfield's style does something to me. So intense.
I'm also a huge fan of Jeffrey Archer's witty style and Sidney Sheldon's unabashed writing. Then there's our very own Arundhati Roy and Vikram Seth. How can I not mention them? :)
(How ever not? :) )
13. How did you come by Wattpad? What do you think is the best thing about it?
My bestie DameCarnelian told me about it. The copyright, undoubtedly is the best thing about it.
14. Any words for your fans?
I'd like to thank them for taking time out to read my crazy stuff. Lots of love!
15. Tell us something random about you, something you haven't shared before.
I'm a very romantic person *wink*
(*cough*understatement*cough*)
