We ran through the town, or at least I thought it was a town.  We ran through some gates that lead into a much larger city.  It seemed to go on for infinity with never-ending roads and endless rows of shops and houses. There were people everywhere and of all races which surprised me since I've never seen so many races in such equal numbers in one place before. I have seen werewolf or meif'wa towns that had a few flit-olyns or humans in them but never in my life have I seen lamia peacefully living among other races. The city radiated magic like a wave or... a pulse. I looked towards a large clock tower jutting into the sky.  It looked like an obelisk but was built in an elegant but natural way.  On the clock face was the symbol of Zahra, the goddess of life, but as I know her, the goddess who dies all the time, seriously for a life goddess she dies an awful lot. Then again her heart can revive the dead so that might explain why she dies so much. The city was filled with greenery, flowers, trees, and shrubs everywhere.  Off in the distance, I think its a different district, all the greenery were replaced with clockwork decor.  It didn't take long for me to realize that the city was a plucalus, a town that worships one or more gods of balance. (The word is from the ancients language) Each district was dedicated to a god or two.  I doubt they would have a district for each emotional goddess and I don't think you can make a district for souls and another for death without making them look the same.

I was so focused on the city that I ran into Julia. "Welcome to my home!" She exclaimed. I looked at the rundown shack she calls a 'home'.  Im surprised it wasn't torn down as a safety hazard.  The front door was half off its hinges, the walls had holes that looked to have fallen or torn off and the windows are just two to five shards of glass.  She didn't live in the best neighborhood either, from the looks of it she lives in the Mallory district.  Honestly, I don't understand how anyone could live in his district, its all run down and hazardous plus you're living in the shadow of a dead god.  I don't think you would wake up and say 'Boy, I sure love waking up knowing I live in a place built to tribute a dead god.  Now whats for breakfast?'.  I'm not sure if it's possible, but the inside looked worse then the outside. There was a TV with a ruined couch, a kitchen in shambles, a tattered bed, plus the random holes in the floor that seem to go on forever.

"Watch your step, the floorboards aren't very stable." She pointed out the obvious. "Why do you live here?  And why is this house built over a bottomless pit?" I asked. She giggled softly. "Because this is my home.  I have many memories here, like for instance, this house wasn't always over a bottomless pit.  The earth opened up underneath my house while I was eating dinner one night.  Everyone says it was because of Mallory, the god of misfortune, and his brother Amari, the god of fortune, gave me his blessing and saved my house.  While everyone thought of Mallory as a god of bad luck, I see him as a god of blessings in disguise. The pit is a great dump. You can crash here for as long as you like". She finished "Il rest today then but I'll be out of your hair in the morning," said Spirit.  "Aww.  I wanna hang out with you more." I swear this girl can use illusion magic. "Fine", said Spirit, "I'll stay for a month but then I'm out of here." "Yay!" She yelled so loud part of the wall fell.  This is gonna be an interesting month.

She was so grumpy when we first met it was hilarious!
