Lee Chae Rin was born in Seoul, South Korea. Her childhood was spent on an international school in Tokyo, Japan where, in addition to her native Korean, she learned to speak Japanese and English. She returned to Korea during her early teenage years. At fourteen, Chae Rin went to study alone in Paris, France. But after only a month of being homesick, she went back home.
After her return, she became determined to pursue her dream to become a musician. She auditioned for JYP Entertainment and was accepted as a trainee. However, Chaerin’s heart was set on becoming part of a management company that specializes in genre that she wanted to perform. So she sent not one, not two, but three demo CDs to YG Entertainment. After hearing no news, she that took matters into her own hands and went to the company itself, bringing with her another demo. Much to her surprise, she saw the C.E.O. of the company, Yang Hyun Suk himself leaving so she approached him and handed him the CD. A few hours later at home, she got the call. She withdrew from JYP and officially Joined YG Entertainment.
After years of training, the Baddest Female of Seoul City emerged as the leader of YGE’s powerhouse girl group, 2NE1.
FEIRCE FACTS:
Despite being very fond of sewing ragdolls, CL does not know how to operate a sewing machine. She sews everything (including Tamtam, the doll which she gave Dara) by hand.
