The howling wind was her only cover as Cora snuck into her unlucky victims' room. She had been watching and waiting for the perfect moment to strike and this was it. She was ready to finally get some answers. Her footsteps were light and silent as she tip-toed towards the victims' bed. He was snoring slightly. It reminded her of her fathers snoring. How she hated his snoring but she couldn't sleep without listening to the sound of him taking in a snore and letting out a long breath, until it stopped altogether. It was because of the coward sleeping soundly in the bed before her. The man who had a done nothing to stop the murder of her beloved parents. He had watched them as they were gutted alive by a man who haunts Cora's nightmares to this day. His dark green-grey eyes, his harsh jawline, and his deadly skills.
Cora swiftly unsheathed her beautiful dagger she liked to call the Death singer after the way it sang its song of death as she killed her victims' lives. The weight of the dagger felt balanced. Perfect. Flawless. Deadly. Hungry for a kill.
"Wakey, Wakey coward" Cora's voice sliced through the thick sound of the howling wind as she slowly crept closer to the bed. It was a decent sized bed for a single man with so much money he could buy a house as big as the Eiffel Tower. "Time to wake up, I have some pressing questions to ask you." The man was instantly out of bed and grabbing the nearest thing he could to try and defend himself. He had grabbed the lamp that had been resting on his bedside moments ago. His eyes were wide with terror.
"Who are you?" His voice was almost a whisper.
"Your worst nightmare if you don't give me the answers to a few simple questions." She stalked towards him pointing the knife to him she stopped a few feet away from him and said, "You have some valuable information I need about the night Vivian and Andrew Camari were murdered," She took a step closer, "Why were you there?"
"I was d-doing business with the man who killed them," his breath was shaky.
"Did you know what was going to go on before you turned up?" Another step towards him, this time he stepped back causing him to collide with his bedside table.
"N-no, I was there to talk about a different deal regarding my safety against some gang bangers"
"What gang bangers?" She drew her eyebrows together, "There's never anything about gang bangers."
"The Northern Dragons, they were a new gang in town."
"Are they the only ones?" She wanted to kill them all.
"No but I only know about 3 of them including the Northern Dragons, there is also the Western Circle and the Eastern Wolves."
"Is there any south?"
"Not that I know about, I've never travelled south."
"Really? You should it's quite exquisite," looking at Cora with a confused and terror filled gaze he nodded slightly, "Final question," he let out a breath of relief, "What is the man's name who killed the Vivian and Andrew?"
"I-I can't tell you that," he stepped to his right to step around the bedside.
"You know you can't run," he sucked in a deep breath as Cora took 3 long strides and held the Death singer to his throat, "What was his name?" She asked again.
"I-if I tell you he will kill me"
"Well I'll kill you if you don't," she placed a hand behind his head and applied slight pressure to the soft part of his neck, a trickle of blood flowed out of the small incision, "What. Was. His. Name?"
"I-I can't tell you." Cora was furious.
"Fine, say 'hi' to my parents for me." As quick as light Cora slit the coward's throat from ear to ear letting the blood splatter onto her face. She let herself take in the glory of another kill. His body slumped to the floor as she let go of his head causing a thump sound.
She was out of the room as soon as she heard someone walking up the stairs leading to the dead cowards' room. Cora watched as the man's guard open the door and beheld the sight of the dead man in all his glory. His face will forever stay in a silent scream, his face forever with the expression of surprise as if he never thought death would claim him this way. Stupid, Idiotic, Rich Coward. Of course he would have been killed by unnatural causes they all do.
Cora now strolled through the big city of Farlowe. The city filled with a whole lot of rich bastards, ancient magic, ancient buildings, ancient practices, ancient religions and a whole bunch of ancient bullshit in Cora's eyes. Cora wasn't a person who believed in that sort of shit.
Cora wanted nothing more than to find her parents killer, kill him then live her life without the guilt of not being able to save them. She wanted to avenge their death. And she was going to avenge their deaths even if it meant her death.
Cora spent most of her life in a training camp meant for men fighting in the 5th world war, Humans vs Demons. Demons of all kind, Fae, Demi-Fae, Shadow-beings, Blaze-hounds, the list goes on. She was never allowed to fight in the war as she was a female. Cora was hurt beyond words as they were lead by the deadliest female being known to mankind, the Dryad, she is the Crowned Queen of all Demons, her name the one word no one ever speaks of. Desdemona. She has been alive for centuries, and she is without a doubt the smartest being alive. She is also known to be the most stunning being alive, with her vibrant blue eyes, pitch black hair, tanned skin, and a body that makes her look younger than she really is.
Anyone who dares to argue with her or refuses to obey her commands are instantly beheaded. Cora liked her head attached to her body so she had given up on wanting to fight in the war.
Cora was over it now but she was thirsty for revenge. And she didn't believe in mercy. She believed in one thing and one thing only, revenge.
And she was going to get all the revenge she wanted, no matter who or what tried to stop her. Even if the world imploded she would seek revenge until her final breath.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
