You put up Sumi's book and picked another random book off of the shelf. The cover was black, and with silver lettering, reads one name:

Sarmen

You flip to a random part of the page and scanned though the contents. This one was pretty recent and there was a part two? You were curious and dove into the story.

--

Sarmen was sitting in a small diner, atleast, he was pretty sure it was a diner. Repairs may have seemed to be going well but not everything was fixed immediatly.

He let out a groan, right now he just wanted to see Sumi again and Vraelen was getting in the way like he always did. That was something else that was bothering him, most of this destruction was his fault and yet he got to live a pretty happy life with Princess Saiya? It was maddening to think about.

"Sorry bro, had to slip away." Speak of the devil and he shall appear, with his white hair and large, mischevious smile. "Saiya can sometimes be a bit /too/ possessive... Kinda like you with Sumi, except in my case, both parties have a mutual attraction for each other."

Sarmen's eyes flashed red as he slammed his hands into the table infront of him and rising up. His blood boiled and he bared his fangs at the older vampire.

"Wow, calm down, you really need to fix those anger issues."Vraelen smiled, this only further enraged the black-haired male.

"If you just wanted to insult me, then I should just leave."Sarmen snarled, moving to leave the building. He was stopped by Vraelen moving infront of him, effectively blocking his path.

"Okok, I'm sorry, I'll stop. Just sit down."Vraelen sighed, Sarmen was reluctant but nevertheless, he sat back down.

"What'd you want?" The younger male just wanted this over with as soon as possible.

"Before I explain that, just come with me."Vraelen said with a toothy grin.

Sarmen was running through the forest, Vraelen right infront of him. The only reason he was here was pure curiosity, he'd try to make this quick, hopefully Sumi wouldn't get worried or lonely.

But then again, she has that trickster inside of her

Oh, how he hated the fiend who'd dared to use the body of his Sumi. It actually made him sick, so much that he thought he'd puke. If that thing wasn't using his beloved's body, he would've torn it apart, piece by painful piece. So much that an individual piece would look like a stripe of paper...

"Hey there, you got that look in your eye again."Sarmen was snapped out of his morbid musing by Vraelen stopping and giving him a worried glance.

"Huh?"

"I've noticed that whenever you seem to have a murderous thoughts, you get a dark look in your eyes." The silver-haired male said.

"That doesn't concern you."Sarmen snapped, he looked around, it seemed like they were at or around the border. He remembered coming here with Sumi, when they were going back to Ignis. The memory made his heart flutter, how close the two were during the horse ride. "Why are we here?"

"We can walk the rest of the way, C'mon."The older male replied, gesturing for Sarmen to follow. "So, what were you thinking about?"

"All the ways I could kill you."

"Really, do tell."

"Decapitation."

Vraelen laughed at that response, like it was the funniest thing in the world. "That's so obvious."He wiped a nonexistant tear away.

"Well, I could also carve you up faster than you can heal, drain all the blood in your body, starve you, torture, cut all your organs out...or, poison you with something to take away your healing factor. Maybe just get someone to nullify all of your powers, after that, you'd be nothing more than a human until your powers come back."

"Aah."Vraelen said with a nod. "All of those would be lethal to me, especially the poison one, just don't tell Saiya."He finished off with a laugh.

"What is it, with you and the princess?"Sarmen questioned, he'd been wondering for a while now, the curiosity had been ebbing away at him.

"Well, we're both crazy enough to hate each other that we actually like each other. Yes, it's very twisted, I know. I could also ask the same about you and foxy."That nickname, foxy, it Irked the younger male that Vraelen used it so much.

"I like her and she likes me."Sarmen replied as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"With how cold she is towards you, I don't buy it."The words made Sarmen feel something in his heart. He wasn't quite sure what it was, but he didn't like it.

"Don't look at me like that. The Sumi I remember was kind, caring, fun to be around. She always seemed to light up a room. This person you seem to 'love', that's not the Sumi I..."Vraelen stopped, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.

During his tirade, Sarmen only grew infuriated, Vraelen had no right to talk. "Shut your gods damned mouth."He snarled.

The look Vraelen gave him only seemed to make Sarmen angrier. "Sarmen, I don't know what sadist-sadist, sadist-masochist or masochist-masochist relationship you two have, but Sumi doesn't love you."Ouch, all of Sarmen's rage was wiped away. Replaced by something else, something painful.

"Maybe you're too blind to see it, but, I've spotted the looks Sumi gives you. You're an annoyance, at the very least." Sarmen's breathing became erratic. "You cling onto her like a parasite, heck, maybe you might make a good pawn. You may love her so much that it hurts, unfortunatly she doesn't feel the same. Because, from the way she behaves, she might love that imposter more than she loves you."Now Sarmen's eyes began to feel wet, not just because Vraelen's words were hurtful, but because of how true they sounded. It hurt more than a dagger to the heart.

Sarmen balled his fists at Vraelen's words, he bit his bottom lip so harshly that it started to bleed. "You don't know how I feel, nor how she feels, not one little bit."He rasped, his body beginning to tremble.

"Little bro, you poor little thing. In the end, this'll leave you..." Vraelen was cut off by Sarmen's fist colliding with his stupid face. The sound of splinters and the ground lightly shaking due to a tree falling over were indicators that Sarmen's blow dealt quite a bit of damage.

Sarmen's eyes were glowing, he'd hoped that it might hide his tears. Without checking on Vraelen, Sarmen spun on the ball of his right foot and left. It was already getting dark and he had no idea where he was going. Nightvision didn't come with the package of powers.

Sarmen wound up tripping on something...sharp. He fell onto his hands and knees, shudders going up his spine. His right leg hurt and when he looked at it, he could see a small buddle where his foot should've been. The clouds parted and before the moonlight illuminated his detatched leg, resting in the now darkening dirt, a few feet away.

Before his brain could process what was happening, he heard a snap. Looking up, he could see a figure in the darkness, covered by the shadows. It didn't seem possible, why didn't the light touch anything else?

It only illuminated a small the small area where he was, as though something was willing it not to spread. Suddenly, the figure had four tendrils erupt from it's back, writhing and snapping. "Vraelen?"

Just as the words left his mouth, a red tendril shot out of the shadows, covered in spiked of darkness to make it seem like a thorn. Sarmen's eyes widened, a pain erupted from his chest and he could feel that his remaining leg wasn't touching the ground.

He clutched the tendril, coughing up globs of blood, the thorns extending to pierce his hands. With a sickening squelch, he was on the ground. The tendril hovered over him, a red mass that used to be his heart stuck at the tip of it like an apple on a stick.

With that, he knew no more.
