It started with the piercing of a scalpel.
The blood pouring from the wound that has opened with screams of a child arising from the brightness of the metal. A gruesome sound of the parting of flesh which splattered the colors of blood onto her face with distant pupils and a grin tearing at her cheeks. Out of spite she licked her lips to taste the iron in the blood with a satisfied breathy moan. A giggle pushing through her bright white teeth stained by the cherry red from his skin. She quickly ripped the scalpel out of his soft skin to stab it back in another soft place. Pressing through muscle tissue and other flesh, butting her body weight and drifting the scalpel through the flesh only to hear the satisfying crack of a bone, seeing the displacement of his back, and the tasteful crunching of cartilage. The tears of which he couldn't control streamed down his tender cheeks as his pupils dilated oddly yet in horror of which he could no longer feel the strength to scream. She continued to giggle and snigger letting her tongue slip from her lips as it disconnected from its placement to hang unnaturally from her mouth. A crack from her jaw left her in a state of cackling, as she continued to stab at his soft flesh. Stab after stab the flesh parted and he'd painfully whisper a strained scream. He tensed every muscle of his body one last time only to quickly lay limp as the final tear drained from his lifeless eyes.
Ayano woke up with a scream, pressing her hands against her temples as she breathed heavily. Beads of sweat damped her face as she inhaled and exhaled with a hint of shake in her. Her wide eye danced around the room in an attempt to caress reality as it surrounded her with hopeful comfort. Yet she was not calm. Sudden blue and purple freckles appeared on her face, shoulders and knees as she still tried to grip her safety. Yet she couldn't. Horror was laced into her eye as she clenched her jaw tightly letting out small and soft cries. She covered her mouth to close her eye as she continued to cry, tears forming at the corners of her eyes as they dripped down her face and pooled by her jaw.
Tatsu slammed open the door quicker than her arm could handle letting it strain with a small hiss. She ran over to Ayano stomping her feet on the light carpet underneath before being able to touch her back and grasp her hands to pry them from her terrified face.
" Ayano," She paused to purse her lips " Hey, what's happened." She lightly rubbed Ayano's back in an attempt to calm her down. Tatsu, not understanding what had happened, continued to try and calm Ayano slowly and softly " Shh." She tried to slow down the tears and whimpers.
" I-" Ayano choked on her words trying to slow down her trembling lips " I had a dream where I killed someone." She looked up at Tatsu still crying harshly. Tatsu's eyes widened under her long bangs, " Let me see your eye now." She demanded resting her index finger on Ayano's right cheek underneath her eye pad. Ayano lifted her pad to reveal a red color with small pupils and pinkish whites. Tatsu gasped lifting her bangs to expose her three eyes which had the same effect on them. Ayano now worried grasped Tatsu's arm harshly leaving small red marks " What is it?" She inquired worriedly. Tatsu let her bangs fall again and Ayano let her pad cover her eye once more. " It's nothing." Tatsu lied under her facade of worry. " It's just a small bit of inflammation." Ayano sighed of relief not knowing the lie that Tatsu had told. " Alright," she took a deep shaky breath " I believe you."
Tatsu under her breath coughed " I believe in you, kitty." She took a deep breath " You can fight this." Ayano of course didn't hear her soft words and turned on her side to sigh and close her eyes. Still a curdling feeling in her stomach kept her up when it came to insomnia. She kept turning from her back to her sides uncomfortable. Lifting her eye pad when she grew tired of the insomnia she rushed to her closet mirror looking into it with curiosity, not knowing what was happening to her eye she pushed herself forwards to see closer into it. Once that eye was able to make contact with her original eye the pupils grew large enough to cover the iris. The intraocular of her eye seemed to be dried up to the point it just felt like dry and cracked lips but it stung like a bees nip. Her sclera was tinted red as normal but throbbed out of inflicted pain instinct. She was confused, poking at her cheek moving around her eye, and eventually poking at her sclera a few times hopefully to make it water up since it seemed so embarrassingly dry. The pupil went to original size to show the red color, and out of pure idiocy she shrugged and went to tuck herself back in bed letting her pad fall back onto her eye. Being able to sweetly rest afterwards with no terrorizing thoughts during slumber. As if she was able to tame her rest and push out the dreams that she dearly dreaded. Almost as if she put her eye back into the place it was supposed to.
