Chapter One
Jake's P.O.V.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ever since New Years my friends have been on me like a pack of wolves waiting for the next surprise. I keep telling them it's not much of a surprise if they know, but they won't listen. Besides, if I did tell one of them at least one person would get clocked in the face. It's nearing February first and I know they'll be expecting a surprise, but it's not always the first if every month guys, come on I am not that predictable.Walking into English today was different than normal. It was several things that made it this way, whether it was me thinking about the next surprise or thinking about if Aiden got hotter or if I got gayer, it was different.
Ah, yes. Aiden James.
Aiden is my best friend and resident ladies man. He's a typical jock who actually doesn't do many sports, but you could never tell. He's 6'2", has blond hair, and is ripped as fuck. No wonder he's so hot. His personality is what gets you though. Super humble and nice and caring and God I wish I could tell him I have a crush on him. Never mind that thought, I push it away as he waves me over to the opposite side of the classroom. He's not gay, I tell myself, kind of hoping it's not true.
Maria's P.O.V.
I don't know who they think they're fooling. Themselves, maybe. By them I mean tweedle dee and tweedle dum, Jacob and Aiden. Ahh, yes, the lovebirds. The Romeo and Juliet of our group if you will. Or maybe the Ron and Hermione or the Percy and Annabeth, but this time without one of them being smart. I wish they stop being so oblivious and KISS ALREADY. Junior year is ending quickly, and I'm getting them together by the end of senior year or so help me.Anywho, I hear one of my friends call out from across the class right before the bell rings for homeroom.
"Mari! Over here!" As if I didn't know where he sat for the entire school year, tweedle dee's twin brother calls me over. I feign reluctance and head over with a dramatic sigh as I sink down into the chair next to Joseph Tomly.
"What do you want, Michael Clifford," I boringly drone out as reflex when I greet him. He looks surprised when I mention his new nickname, though I have one every day. This time it's referencing his middle name (Michael) and the fact that he has a new hair color. Again. I swear to god that boy is going to go bald.
"Thought you were running dry on the nicknames, but apparently not. Also, why do I have to want something? Why can't I just talk to you because we're fweinds?" He said, finishing with a baby voice.
Man this boy is a mystery.
I keep trying to figure out Jake's better half-that-came-out-of-the-womb-first, but I just can't seem to do it. It's a first for me. He acts one way and then another and then he has never managed to figure out what hair color he wants since he was 14. Last month it was a navy blue and now it's jet black (Hah, another reason to call him Michael Clifford. I think he should change his name and join a band) with hints of red. He really is a challenge.
I am snapped out of my thoughts as the bell rings and the teacher starts to drone on about the announcements.
Help me get through the day.
Ooh look at that, another short chapter published way too late at night when I should be asleep. I'm sensing a reoccurring theme here. On the bright side, it's almost Christmas and you should read all about it in my life story book "Me in the flesh" (Shameless self-promo). I really should go to bed...oh well
