The warm new leaf breeze flowed softly though the nursery. Frostedkit sat at the mouth of the den admiring the dancing lights from the leaves giving a cool dappled effect. He let out a sigh and turned his head to the bright azure sky as a bird soared past.
"His domain is awesome" An intellectual mew sounded and he looked up to see Snowkit padding over to join him.
Frostedkit nodded and smiled as he looked from the white shekit to the bright sky as the eagle flew. It seemed to be circling like a vulture and Frostedkit narrowed his bright blue eyes at it. Suddenly it swooped and he let out a squeak.
"Run Snowkit" he mewed, jumping up and chasing after he white she.
It's shadow was now covering him but large paw covered him. He looked up at the large black tomcat called Duskfall. He gasped as another large tom joined Duskfall's side. Frostedkit blinked up at Cloudstar, his fluffy white tail signalling for him to run. Frostedkit nodded with his jaw open. He shook his head and darted over to his mother and five other siblings with fear gone from his eyes. He looked at Snowkit with her mother, Oceanwhisker.
"It's okay little ones" Brakencloud soothed us and Frostedkit felt Fluffykit brush against him,
He licked her shoulder and the angora van smiled back at me. Frostedkit looked up and saw Cloudstar's unsheathed claw hit the eagle. It let out a loud squark and tried to peck them. Duskfall hit it's back bringing it down and Cloudstar bit it, delivering a killing bite.
"One less problem without it" Frostedkit heard Duskfall whisper to Cloudstar and the white tomcat nodded then turned to Snowkit and Frostedkit.
"You two be careful next time" He mewed sternly "we may not always be there to help you the next time if it ever happens again"
We nodded with trepidation and with a curt nod they swooped off to converse about what had just happened. Frostedkit exhaled and looked at his paws. Fluffykit put a tail on his shoulder to reassure him and he returned the smile.
"Thanks sis" he mewed and she just grinned jovially.

Later that day

Brackencloud ushered us out of the nursery so we could get some fresh air. Warm sunlight beated gently down on Frostedkit's soft white pelt. Snowkit emerged with wide eyes, gazing at the sky with fright clouding her eyes. Frostedkit bounced over to her, forgetting the traumatic experience they had gone though.
"Wanna play with us?" He chirped to her as Flarekit grumbled about not wanting to be out in the camp.
"Sure" Snowkit mewed, eyes sparkling as she ran over to where the six kits were.
"Let's play hide and seek" Leafkit mewed " I will count!"
We all agreed then Frostedkit sprinted in the direction of the nursery he dived into the bush only to meet an unpleasant thing, it was a thorn bush. He let out a soft yelp as the sharp thorns scraped across his skin and he gritted his fangs. He was prepared to wait it out but it stung like The Darkforest. -Only a little bit- he told himself with tears stinging his bright blue eyes. -only a little bit-
