My red hair kept falling out of its ponytail. I brushed it back, but it was helpless. I took the string out of my hair and tied it back. I swept back and forth on the old stone floor. In the basement, the stone was chipped and old. I was hardly ever upstairs so I didn't really know how it looked like.
"Alice! Set the table up the servants and maids are coming soon." I took my old brush and put it away when I heard Evelyn's voice. I slowly walked into the small hallway. I could feel my breath quicken. Luckily the kitchen was just opposite of the dining room. I sprinted through the corridor to the kitchen. The plain walls seemed to suffocate me. Once I was safe in the kitchen I took a deep breath. Listening to the bubbling water over the fire, I made my way over to the plates. Taking a stack of wooden plates, I went to the dining room and set them on the table. I repeated the process until everything was set out. I ran back to the kitchen to get the ale. I took it and made my way back to the dining room where everyone was already seated and ready to eat. I glanced around the room to see only some bare walls. Placing the ale down everyone started eating. I took my seat next to my brother Asher. He is the personal assistant of the lord's son Christopher. Asher has brown cropped hair and green twinkling eyes. He is 15 years old and is too protective for his own good.
"How is me little sister?" Asher asked ruffling my already messed up hair.
"By my troth, Asher I'm not a lass anymore. I am 13 now!" I retorted. I leant over and took a piece of bread. It was light brown. It's edging crunching under my teeth. The light and fluffy bread was soft on my tongue.
"How was your den till now Alice?" The wife of Asher asked.
" It was good. I hope people won't make such a mess this morrow." I told her. Asher's wife is a really nice maid. Her name is Giuliana. She has beauteous long brown hair with dark brown hair. She is one of the kitchen maids.
Suddenly I felt a hand on my back. I turned around to see my mothers beauteous green eyes. Her pretty brown hair was cascading down her back. My mother was the kitchen maid of the Lords Family. Behind her I saw the ice blue eyes that belonged to my father. My father and I looked very similar. Both of us have flame red hair and ice blue eyes. My father was not a servant, but he was the cook for the family. He was the servant of the Lord Stephen. We ate our bellytimber until nothing was left.
As my family left I got up to clean the table. I stacked all of the plates that were loaded with crumbs and went to take them to the kitchen. As I was walking I crashed into a body. All of the plates flew through the air. Then all of them crashed down on me all of the sudden. My head was aching from the bunch of plates that hit my head. I frantically looked left and right, that was when I figured out that I was knocked to the ground. My throat started to close in and my breath quickened. I curled into a ball because I knew that the thing was happening again. The walls seemed to close in on me. Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and stared into the most striking eyes I have ever seen.
They were a bright forest green and you could see them sparkle. The person was a male and he was definitely not a servant. His coal black hair was nicely combed back on his head. He was wearing a beauteous silk robe that ended at his knees. "Is everything okay?" His eyes were wide with concern. All I could do was shake my head. He knelt down beside me and put a hand on my forehead.
"Corpus Bones! You are sweating a lot, let's get you to the dining room, okay?" The lad took my hand and pulled me up. We walked in silence to the dining room, because I am really clumsy when I am scared so, I tripped a lot. We got to the dining room. I sat down on the chair to calm down. Then I heard the guy say something again.
"What's your name?" His voice came out soft and elegant.
"I'm Alice, what's yours?" I asked him. My eyes were teary from me being really scared. I hadn't even noticed that I had cried till I touched my cheeks. I bet my eyes were swollen red and cheeks puffy. I was broken out of my thoughts when I heard him chuckle. I turned my head slightly to look at him.
