Your (e/c) fluttered open and a large yawn made it's way past your lips. Looking groggily towards the window, you noticed that the sky was just beginning to lighten with the promise of a sunny day. Again you yawned as you began to stretch yourself out on the bed, turning on your side and squeezing your eyes shut. When your eyes opened, you stopped breathing.
A pale face was merely inches away from yours. You gasped in surprise and fumbled out of your bed. You landed with an 'oof!' on the carpeted floor but still your sleeping company didn't stir. Peeking up over the bed, you examined the stranger. Smooth porcelain skin, messy snow white hair. Blue hooded jacket with intricate snow patterns around the shoulders and neck with light tan trousers. The palm of your hand met with your face and you let out a deep sigh. It was Jack. He was real. Not a dream or hallucination from when you hit your head. And he was sleeping in your bed. Great. Just great.
Grumbling, you slowly stood and passed by your bed and into your closet to get a change of clothes. Throwing on a simple (f/c) sweater and a pair of dark jeans, you left the small space of your closet and back into the bedroom. Jack had curled up with the pillow you had used and you let out a small giggle at the sight. 'He's just so cute~!' Your eyes widened at the thought and you frantically shook your head, willing the thought from your mind. You had just the guy and you know nothing about him. Well...technically you did if he was telling the truth the night before. The Spirit of Winter huh?
You shook off the thought again and moved to your bedside to grab your phone. You snatched up the device and checked it for messages before shoving it in your back pocket. A soft glowing light caught your attention in the shaded room. You bent down to examine the small figure. It was see through and was slightly tinted a soft blue, almost like ice. The closer you examined the object, the more you began to see the shape of a stemless rose. Your eyes traced the details of the petals that seemed to have frozen in mid-bloom. It was truly breath-taking. You lifted your hand and placed a tentative finger on the blue rose. It was as cold as ice! You glanced at Jack before looking back. You picked it up gently, cupping it with both of your hands. A pleasant shiver raced through you and you smiled. The odd thing was, despite the heat from your hands, you didn't feel the water that would have melted from the ice. It was magical and beautiful and a little nerve wrecking to have such a delicate thing in your hands.
"Do...you like it?"
You jumped and pulled the rose in towards your chest to ensure you didn't drop it. Jack was on the bed still, laying on his side and leaning on his elbow to look at you. You were almost positive that your heart had stopped, whether it was from his unexpected voice or from the way he was looking at you, you weren't sure. Very carefully, you placed the precious object back onto your nightstand before turning towards him.
"You made that?" you asked softly. Jack nodded shyly as he stood from the bed and stretched his arms above his head. The movement caused his jacket to lift and you blushed when you saw the smooth surface of his toned stomach. Jack noticed your red face and frowned, letting his arms fall back down to his sides. "Hey, you okay? Your not sick because of yesterday are you?" he asked with a hint of worry in his voice. Your eyes widened and your blush darkened as you shook your head. "N-no! I'm f-fine, I swear."
He narrowed his eyes at you and moved closer, now only a few inches separating you. You didn't dare move as the back of his hand rested against your forehead. His touch was cool and smooth, almost as if he was made of ice. Well...what did you expect from the Spirit of Winter?
"Well, your a little warm. Are you sure okay?"
You forced a nod and took a small step back to create a little distance from him. "I'm fine...and um, thank you...for the...rose?" Jack smiled a wide smile that could've blinded an airplane if you were outside. Wow, he had a great smile. You mentally slapped yourself and gave a small smile back.
