18 year old Zach stood on the front porch with his dad. "Son, I know I've been rough on you, but...I won't last forever." Mike, his dad, said. "I know, dad." Zach said, not taking his eyes off the sunset. "Thing is...I have faith in you. The most faith for that matter." Mike said. "I bet." Zach said. Just then, Trevor walked out onto the front porch. "Hey guys. What're you doing?" Trevor asked as he took a seat on the porch stairs, below where Zach and Mike were standing. "Just talking." Mike answered. "About?" Trevor asked. Mike sat down next to 20 year old Trevor. "The big heist is today. The one I've been talking about." Mike said. "The one with Frank and Allen?" Zach asked. "Yes." Mike said, looking at the blood-red sky. "Thing is, we need the money. Not to live off of, but to open the business that I want." Mike said. "Like funding the police station?" Zach asked, becoming excited. Mike smiled. "Yes." Mike said, patting Zach on the back. "Planning your futures without me, I see." Adrien said. They all turned and saw Adrien's skinny frame leaning in the doorway. "Shush, Adrien. The grownups are talking." Zach said. "You're barely 18!" Adrien protested. "..and you're 16. Big difference." Trevor said. "Ugh." Adrien said as he turned and left. "You'll understand when you're older." Mike called to him from the porch. "So anyway, I'm going to turn Allen and Frank in to the cops, take the 30 million, and this family is getting a new, clean, lifestyle." Mike said. "Well, you're a white collar criminal. So we already live perfect lives." Trevor said. "And we can't thank you enough for that." Zach said. "It's what I do for my family that I love. We live comfortable lives here, but not after this. Not in this town." Mike said. "Okay, I get it." Zach said. Just then, Adena walked out. She hugged Mike. "I always wish you wouldn't do this kinda stuff but if it's the one that gets up free, go for it." Adena said. "Yeah. This is the one that fixes us and makes us free again." Mike said. Mike looked at each member of the family that was outside. "Okay...this is it. If anything happens to me...Zach, you're the man of the house." Mike said. "What?! I'm older!" Trevor yelled as he stood up from his spot on the porch stairs. "That sudden outburst right there proves my point." Mike said. With that, Trevor fell silent and sat back down. Just then, an 18 wheeler pulled up. Allan stepped out of the car and looked at Mike. "Okay...I'm off." Mike said. "Enkip's in the rig so sit up here with us." Allen said. "I was gonna." Mike said. Frank chuckled to himself with his hands on the steering wheel as Mike climbed in.

The next day:

Zach came home from school having been picked up by his mom. His friends, Tyler and Josh, had rode with them to hang out. Adena parker in the driveway of the small rental house that they were in to be able to move quickly when Mike pulled off the heist. Another car pulled up with Adrien in it being dropped off by his friend's older brother. "Hey, Scarface." Zach said. Tyler nudged Zach's arm with his elbow as he, Zach, and Josh laughed. Adrien busted rolled his eyes and walked past them with his book bag on only one shoulder. "Hey, how'd he be that scar anyway? I never asked." Josh asked. "It's weird, huh? Shaped like a perfect 'F' right there over his left eye." Tyler said. "Well, it's was when he was 5.-" Zach began. "-Hey! We don't go giving out family's personal business." Adena said, in a slightly scolding tone. "Sorry, mom." Zach said as Trevor pulled up in his car. "Hey, Trevor. Have a good day at the auto shop?" Zach asked. "Well, it was productive to say the least, bro." Trevor said with a smile. Zach looked at Adena and back at Trevor. "Ooohhh, okay." Zach said. "Hmmm." Adena muttered. "Okay, boys. Let's fire up that PS3!" Zach said as Tyler and Josh followed him into the house. Adena looked off into the distance. "Hmmm, nothing on the news yet." She said to herself. "He'll be fine, mom. He's a professional." Trevor said, reassuringly. "I sure hope so." Adena said.

That night:

Zach sat in his room, still playing a video game with Tyler and Josh, when they heard a car brake hard on the gravel driveway. Adena sprinted out to see a car covered in dust. Mike poked his head out. "Hope you're all packed! We gotta go!" Mike yelled. Zach closed his window where he was listening. "You guys gotta go home, I'm outta this place. Call you guys and Jason when I can." Zach said as he got up with a suitcase. "But what about Hannah?" Josh asked. "She knows." Zach said as he left. Adena hopes into the front seat. Zach, Trevor, and Adrien got in the back with Adrien, the smallest, in the middle. Mike pulled out in a rush. "Everything in the trunk?" Adena asked. "Yeah." Trevor said. Just then, a small truck smashed into their car, almost flipping them. "Whoa!" Adrien yelled. "Those must be some of Frank and Allen's men!" Mike yelled as he got out a pistol. Adena did the same. "Kids, stay in the car." Adena said as she loaded her gun. "Put your heads down!" Trevor said to Zach and Adrien. They all heard a series of gunshots followed by silence. The three teenagers sat in total silence for at least 2 minutes, none of them daring to lift their heads from between their knees. Footsteps on the gravel could be heard getting closer. Their hearts raced faster and faster. "Hey boys, we're okay." Mike said in a comforting voice. "Hold this for a second." Adena said as she handed Adrien her warm pistol. Just then, one of Frank and Allen's men on Zach's side of the car ripped him from the car and aimed the gun to his left temple while holding him against himself. Adrien aimed his gun at them. With his shaking hands, his aim kept accidentally going from Zach to the thug. Adrien pulled the trigger. The bullet struck the thug right between his eyes and he collapsed to the ground. "Adrien! Oh my god! You-you saved my life!" Zach yelled. "You did!" Trevor shouted. "Y-y-yeah...I guess I did." Adrien said, becoming filled with pride. "Good going, Adrien." Mike said, nodding his head at him. "Thank." Adrien said. Zach got back in the car with the others. "Thanks....bro." Zach said as he and Trevor both put their hands on his shoulders. "It's what brothers do for each other." Adrien said with a smile.
