Chapter 1: Lexi's POV

I woke up to my phone blaring Stay Hugh by Tove Lo, that's one of my favorite songs. I groaned and pulled the blanket down and forced myself out of bed. I sat on the chair to my vanity and brushed out my long brown hair. I came back from boarding school and I changed a lot.

Apparently everyone already got the message around that I'm back. By the way my name is Lexi, Lexi Miller. I'm seventeen and one of the most popular girls in school. I have long brown hair down to my waist and I have very very baby blue eyes.

I put on some white skinny jeans, and a turquoise and white chevron top. I also slipped on my favorite turquoise flats with a white bow on top. I quickly did my makeup and grabbed my purse before telling my mom I was leaving.

I got in my cherry red Lexus that my parents got me for my sixteenth birthday last year. I still can't believe it, it's my ticket to freedom. I was on my way to school when I turned into Starbucks for a cotton candy frappé. Even though I'm not that slutty bitch I was last year I still am a typical white girl. I ordered then took my coffee and got back in my car and drove to school.

I pulled into the parking lot and parked. I got out of the car and everyone stared and pointed at me. could they be any more rude. I walked to my locker and placed my book bag in. I walked into class on time and everyone was looking at me in shock. Then my best friends Tiffany and Stacy looked at me like I was crazy. Tiffany said, "shocker, Lexi is actually at school on time for once." Then Stacy laughed and Tiffany just flipped her long perfectly straight dark brown hair and smiled.

Then they sat down beside me and I could smell their sickly sweet perfume. the. Stacy made a disgusted face and looked at me and frowned, "what are you wearing." I looked at her in disbelief and said, "my favorite shirt and some skinny jeans, why?"

"Because it's ugly and looks like your a little girl."

Then I snapped, why was I friends with these girls and most importantly why am I still. then I realized I'm not that same girl that I was last year.

"What, still stuck in La La land just like your choice to go to boarding school was a mistake", Tiffany laughed.

"Actually Tiffany, sorry I'm not wearing a mini skirt and a tank top with a freaking push up bra, which by the way Tiff we can all tell you are wearing", she looked at me with her mouth open, Stacy's too, "but I'm not that same drunk slutty bitch I was last year and I sure don't need you two makeup-coated, push up bras hanging off my arm, I'm different now and I don't need you."

I walked away from their mouths hanging open and their red faces and went to my locker to get my books for next period. Then I shut my locker and bumped into someone and my papers went flying.

"Oh, my god, I'm so sorry."

"No, please it's all my fault."

"Umm, I'm Luke, Luke Hemmings."

"Oh, nice to meet you Luke, I'm Lexi, Lexi Miller."

"Oh, that's you"

"Ya"

"Well, you don't sound like umm, as mean," he laughed, "as they make you seem."

"Ya well, believe me I was last year."

He laughed and smiled. He was nice and then said, "well if you don't want those makeup-coated push up bras then maybe you can hang out with some people more your style, basically me stating feel free to join my table at lunch."

I laughed. "That would be wonderful".

"Great," he said, "see you then".

I smiled then walked off to my next class. It was so boring. I practically almost fell asleep in class. Then I remembered lunch with my new friend Luke and perked right up. To a new me.
