I scratched my head when I was awakened by the horrendous singing voice of Mikayla, I ain't even finna hold you , last year she could actually sing. Well that was before she got her tonsils taken out. She's a really sweet little girl who I can say has been through a lot when she used to sing everything she ever went through was in her voice. Her voice told a story that was way beyond words.

I turned around fast and sat up moving the cheap metal bunk bed and looked at her with my eyes half open and uttered to her wearingly " Cmon Mikayla its - I looked at my phone and said its 7 am you couldnt have found anywhere else to sing at besides our room knowing everyone else is still sleep. "

Mikayla: Sorry, Dee I just gotta be perfect for choir tryouts on tuesday.

Genesis: I don't know why everybody in here pretending and yall know damn well she can't sing for your life or even if you payed her too. Better yet yall she swear this Annie.

Mikayla puts down her lyrics and starts to argue with Genesis waking up the other two girls and everyone starts to get up and somehow get involved in the arguement. Alyssa looks over at Dee and shakes her head.

Dee takes her head scarf off and sits up , Genesis gets the last word by belching out " You wanna talk about my head at least my mother didnt leave me in a trash can " the whole room filled with a awkward silence then Mikayla stormed out the room balling her eyes out.

Everyone looks at Genesis with a look of dissapointment then Dee sucks her teeth and throws a pillow at her then slides down the ladder and bumps her shoulder hard as she passes by her as she exits the room.

Alyssa the eldest out of the group hit her with a pillow and yelled " Now why the fuck would you say something like that, Genny? Huh? Knowing good and well she told us that to get closer to us so were like a family " .

Nia: Because she's an inconsiderate Cunt who doesnt care about others feelings.

Jayla: Mind you, you're picking on little niggas she's only 6 years old, all on top of that you know all we got is each other. You aint got no respect from me no more just know that .

Aaliyah: Everyone shut up, and by the way Genny you a foul ass bitch.

Nova walks into the window from the fire escape and sees Dee holding Mikayla as she sobbed out an apology. He taps Dee and quickly she looks over at him frightened at first and he mouths " what happened ? " and she pulls her phone out the pocket of her sweats and mouths " I'll text you "

He nods his head in a swift up and down motion when Mikayla notices she looks up then announces " Im okay, it just kinda hurts when you tell someone something especially somone who you thought you had a solid bond with she was like a sister to me ".

She holds her hand and walks over to the couch with Mikayla and Nova stands up
In the doorway watching the two connect. He smiles at Dee and she smirks back at him and Mikayla sits on Dee's lap then looks up at her.

Dee: If you're here for Jay their room is down the hall and to the left.

Nova: Thanks.

Dee: I hate that you had to learn about the dog eat dog type of world today but Kayla, let me tell you this no matter how nice someone is to you ; you'll never know if its genuine or not until you see them act on it. Its called dont talk about it be about it you know what that means?

Mikayla: Um.. when someone is all talk but they don't prove it to you.

Dee: Good job, and another thing in this world there's gonna be people that wanna see you win and be successful and there is others that are gonna hate, and envy you with every single bone in their body. They want to see you fail and guess what? Fuck em. Cmon say it I know you know it.

She giggles as Dee tickles her then Mikayla calmed down and said "Fuck em " and Dee looks at her and smiles then pulls her into a long hug.

Dee: If she talks to you like that again let me know so I can knock her teeth out.

Mikayla: I love you Dee.

Dee: I love you too Kayla, come get Me or Lyssa and don't worry bout it I got something for her ass.

Mikayla: Make pancakes.. please?

Dee: Get the stuff out, okay? I'll be there in a minute.

She runs out the living room and over to the kitchen, Mikayla grabs a chair and starts looking in the cabinet for the materials and she screams " THERE'S A RAT " she jumps down and jumps on Dee in the living room.

The girls all run out the room and into the kitchen to see the cabinet wide open and the fat gray rodent sitting there eating the room filled with more screams and Alyssa yelled " AND IT GOT IN THE FROSTED FLAKES " .

Jay came out the boys side and saw what the commotion was about and got a stick and started to hit the furry nuisance but soon after he scattered all about the kitchen looking for his escape and everyone jumped on a piece of furniture if not the table.

Liam came running out of the bathroom saying there was some more under the bathroom cabinet and he panicked and yelled " Man.. this life aint for nobody " Mikayla continued to yell " KILL IT JAY ".

Jay: Yo, did you close the cabinet?

Liam: HELL NAHHH. Nigga I was scared I hit the dip if anything.

Jay looked at him and slapped Liam in the head and said " Dumbass... so they could run out and envade the whole entire house" he scratched his head and loudly sighed.

Aaliyah: Yo and they fucking poop everywhere too. Aye WHERE'S LORETTA AT? ya know considering the fact that she's the guardian.

Liam: She went to the store.

Loretta walked in and saw the copious amount of rats running out of the bathroom and jumped on the table along with a few of the kids and said " I got glue traps "

Dee: So you knew and didnt say anything to any of us?

Loretta: Listen. Chill out for a sec I thought there was just one that night.

Dee: There's never just one dummy.

Loretta: Im so sorry "Diamond".

Dee: Call me it again.. go ahead and I'll slap you I swear on my mother.

Alyssa: You know she hate when people call her that.

Loretta rolled her eyes and Dee sucked her teeth then, there's a knock on the door and Dee runs over to the door rapidly and opens it to reveal the police and they say" Is there a Jayquan Lewis here " he tries to run back into the room.

Dee: No why.

Cop: THERE HE IS !!

They chase him back through the house until the room door slams shut and they start banging and pushing on the door. Rats start to run through the house and the police get startled then all of a sudden I see a six year old Drew butt naked in the kitchen runnimg from a dog that I've never seen before.

Loretta: DREW I TOLD YOU TO KEEP YOUR CLOTHES ON WHEN YOU GO OUTSIDE.

Well... this is my life I didnt think my saturday morning would be going like this but yeah it is. I guess you can say my life is interesting, its never a dull moment when you're a foster kid.
