I never thought,
Three days ago,
That I would be sitting here.
I never imagined,
Three days from then,
That I would still be alive.Three nights ago
I swung from a tree,
Hiding from life,
When I realized I didn't
Want to hide anymore.
So I jumped and I landed
And I jumped again.
To prove to myself
I'm a climber
Yes I am,
Yes I am.The branch gave out,
I fell to the ground,
Even as I fell,
My mouth gave no sound.
No breathing,
No life.
But here I am,
Here....
Alive.
Here I stand.I'm a survivor
Yes,
Yes I am.* * *
Three days,
Three nights,
Away from disaster;
Away from them.Fists, blades
Words just the same,
Make me want to leave,
For Life's just a game
That I'll never win.Three days
Away from the bullies,
Three nights
Away from the pain.
Three wishes
That I made.
Make me strong,
Make me wise,
Make me beautiful
In their eyes.Three days, three nights
All the wishes came true...
But one.I went back to them,
Strong willed,
Wise,
And beautiful.
I asked them if I was pretty
Or hot.
But all they said was
"You are not."But I said to myself,
What do I think?
Am I beautiful...
To me?
The answer was simple,
Clear in my mind:Yes,
Yes I am.
