Your P.O.V

I was an outcast basically. A nobody in a way. I had my club friends and mainly internet friends but there was one person that blew my mind. His name was Shawn Mendes. He was in my music class and he was very shy and handsome. He was an outcast just like me, that's what made me so attracted to him. Ugh he makes me weak in the knees.

One day I was sitting in the library studying for my English final when the class douche bags came up to my table.

"Hey loser." Said one of them knocking my books and notes on the floor and walked away. Then one of the other assholes toppled a chair onto the back of my head. I blacked out.

Shawn's P.O.V

I walked into the library and saw Eric and Brad basically throwing Y/N's notes everywhere. I saw her laying on the floor with her eyes closed when they still continued to torture her lifeless body. I always had feelings for her, especially when she helped me leads the history part of the opera. The way her nose crinkles when she thinks. When her eyes move while she's reading. They way she stutters while she's reading. All perfection to me. I snapped out of my thoughts and anger began to set in.

"Hey!!" I screamed walking over to Eric. He was still throwing her notes around. "Sup." He said. "You and dumbass over there need to screw off. She did nothing to you guys. Look at her. She's laying there lifeless and asleep." I said pointing towards Y/N's body. "She's not asleep, she's faking it." Said brad throwing the chair onto her head again. Her head started to swell and blood began to trickle out of her head. "BRO NOW LOOK WHAT YOU DID!!" Said Eric running out of the room. Brad soon followed.

I ran over to Y/N and I applied pressure to her open wound. "Hang in there Y/N. We'll get you feeling better." I whispered in her ear. Most likely she didn't hear me but oh well. I started screaming for help and luckily the school nurse was in the library dealing with a nose bleed. The ambulance arrived and I wasn't aloud to ride with her. I called my mom to come pick me up but she couldn't until school let out. There was about 20 minutes left so I decided to pick up her notes, books, and re-organize her stuff for her. I know how she likes it because secretly I watch her do it in music class.

Your P.O.V

I slowly opened my eyes and saw a bright light. "Am I dead?" I thought to myself. I heard sniffling in the corner. I turned my head and saw Shawn looking outside the window. I heard him mumbling something to himself. He slightly turned and I shut my eyes giving him the impression that I was still knocked out. "C'mon Mendes. Just tell her. You can do it." He talked to himself. Tell me what? I wondered silently. I heard him walk quietly over and take my hand into his.

"Y/N, you probably can't hear this but I-I l-love y-you. Wow I can't tell you how good that felt to get that off my chest." He paused. "Ah who am I kidding. She can't hear me. I'm the crazy one. Hell I belong in this hospital. I should've protected her. It's all my fault."

I couldn't take it anymore. I spoke up. "Stop blaming yourself." He turned around.

"You heard?" He asked nervously. "Yep." I said rubbing my head trying to relieve the pressure. It was awkward silence until I spoke "it's not your fault by the way. No you're not crazy and I can't thank you enough for what you did today." He blushed. "So you like me, eh?" He said smirking. "I don't like you." I said. He frowned. "I love you." I said smiling.

He lifted his head up smiling from ear to ear. He walked over and gently kissed my lips. "I'll go get the nurse and tell her that you're awake."'he said walking out of the room. I looked over towards my bedside table and turned on my phone. My lock screen was different. It as a screenshot from my notes saying:

"Will you be my girlfriend?"
