Mark started blushing, as I pulled out book after book each labeled diary and then a number, all written in Mom's handwriting. "Why hadn't you tell me 'bout this Mark? Is there any thing else out here in the woods? Tell me Mark, tell me!", tears ran down my face, no, I would not cry again. I wiped my face and tried again, " Mark, why did you keep these from me?", I opened the front cover of the latest version and continued, "This one was dated from only a week ago. Mark, this could help us find out info on the burning." I shook my burnt hands at him, "We could pay them back for what they did!" I knew I was finished, so did Mark. For the first time, I saw my brother cry. A tear rolled down his face. He rushed to explain, "Thinly Emily, Think! The last entry was dated early this morning. I only found them today! I didn't have the chance to tell you. That is why I called you. But you are so DISMISSIVE. You always push my ideas off the table before it sinks in. You can't deny it. You know it. If it wasn't for me, you would still be lying on the ground in that burning mansion." The speech was up for him and me. I lay on my surprisingly comfortable bed, and started ploughing through the latest entries. My brother put the door in place and put a torch on the wall. He too was reading. Here was a section of her diary, "I can't take this anymore. Dale is putting me through such hard times just because of his stupid society. A couple weeks ago I told him to go out and make new friends. Of course, he has to go out and join some secret society that requires him to get out of the house and leave the children while they burn it to the ground. I wish my children would understand..." It went on and on like that for a few more paragraphs, explaining how it was all my father Dale's fault, along with his gang. I started to fall asleep, on the bed made of moss and grass. I closed my eyes and lay there thinking for several minutes. Suddenly, I heard footsteps, Mark must had heard them too because he quietly got up, put out the torch, hid the diaries, and gestured me over to him. I snuck over and lay there next to my brother, his heart was racing but the heat his body produced made me feel warm and safe. I curled up next to him and we hugged.
