"Hurry up," I grumbled, speedily walking towards cashier number 12.
Shoving my bags of junk food, chick-flick films, and packages of fruit onto the check out belt, my best friend tailed behind me slowly with a blank look.
"Stop being a fake homie. We'll get this chick-flick movie night rolling within 10 minutes," Jinny replied with an eye roll, carrying a Walmart basket filled with tubs of ice cream.
"Sorry," I apologized with a tiny smile, grabbing my messenger bag that was slung across my shoulder. "I'm just really anticipated to get this night rolling."
"I am too! But remember, Louie, patience is a virtue," she cooed slowly, shooting me a grin while wiggling her brows.
Pft. Screw that. Unlike someone, I didn't have all the time in the world to be patient. It's been a long and stressful week of school and I was more than ready to get this dull Friday night started with a bang while grubbing on junk food to my heart's content.
Rolling my eyes at Jinny's "words of wisdom", I pulled out my wallet, not paying attention to anything besides wrinkled green paper.
"How are you doing today?" a soft masculine voice asked as I rummaged through my wallet for some cash.
"I'm doing great, thanks," I mumbled in reply before looking up into a pair of soft, clear, blue eyes that belonged to cashier number 12.
"Yeah, uh. I'm fine? L-lovely night... Yep. How are you?" I rambled before mentally face palming.
Surprise, surprise, Louisa, there you go again, embarrassing yourself.
Unfortunately, cashier number 12, or should I say, Max (I looked at his name tag), just had to be a very cute and gorgeous guy that was pleasing to the eyes.
"I'm great, thanks," he chuckled, quickly scanning the oily fried delights that my stomach was craving.
As I awkwardly rocked from side to side on my feet, the corner of his lips pulled into a smile of amusement with tiny dimples blooming onto his cheeks.
Oh, sweet baby Jesus, the charming boy has dimples.
What a blessing this was.
Crossing my arms against my chest, I looked away and briefly glanced at Jinny as she covered her mouth, slowly turning around with her shoulders shaking. I knew she was laughing at me, but I couldn't help but feel even more embarrassed as heat flooded into my cheeks.
"That will be $17.32," Max spoke gently trying not to grin as I hesitantly handed him a twenty dollar bill. "And $2.68 is your change. Have a nice day."
Mumbling a thank you under my breath, I took my change and hurriedly grabbed all of the grocery bags as I tailed out of Walmart with Jinny laughing loudly behind me.
"Oh, that was great. You're pure gold. I love you so much Louisa," Jinny sighed in content, wiping a tear from her eye. "You're just so awkward with guys, it's hilarious."
"Haha, yeah. It's so funny that I laugh at myself all the time," I deadpanned.
Jinny continued to giggle under her breath as I unlocked my ole' trusty clunker named Gertrude, throwing all of the snacks into the back seat and starting the engine.
"Have you composed yourself?" I asked Jinny with a flat look.
"I believe so. Let's get this night rolling!" she cheered rolling down the windows as I pulled out of the Walmart parking lot with Jenny by Walk The Moon blaring through my car speakers.
"So what's the agenda for tonight's Movie Night Friday's?" I asked curiously, drumming my fingers on the steering wheel along to the music.
"Well, chap, I believe tonight's agenda consists of Something Borrowed, Friends with Benefits, The Proposal, and A Walk To Remember." Jinny replied, reading off of her phone in an English accent and glancing at me in excitement.
