Everyone thought the future would bring huge technological advances and flying cars.

But it didn't.

The year is 3054, and the Earth has changed very much. Yes, some predictions were correct. The seven old continents have joined together once more, creating the large landmass Pandora. No, there isn't flying cars, robots, and world peace.

But there could have been.

Back in 2024, World War 3 began, the worst of all wars. When it ended there wasn't people left. The war had destroyed the earth as we knew it.

The few humans that survived the war spent their time gathering knowledge; books, newspapers, electronics were gold back then.

But it was no use.

Everything was gone. The War took everything. The human race was doomed. We should have died off, but of course we didn't.

Hidden beneath the dying embers left behind from the war, was soil. Soil that could grow food for millions. Soil that was stocked full of nutrients from the ashes of burned plants.

So they farmed. They started over. We were back to the beginning, slowly rediscovering things ancient people like Aristotle and Einstein discovered.

So no. The future is not paradise. The future is the reliving of the past. Our single continent is broken down into 84 kingdoms. And no, they are not anything close to the Disney kingdoms where everything is perfect.

There is still violence in this world. Many of the kingdoms are run down, their leaders controlled by an addiction.

Gangs still do very much exist. Though, we may not have cars, we do have motorcycles. Well, only the mobsters have them. The more innocent people, like myself, stick to our horses and the occasional carriage, depending your wealth. For some odd reason, motorcycles were frowned upon, and claimed to be "the devil's contraption," whatever that means.

These kingdoms, though many corrupt, aren't all as damaged. Right in the middle of the continent lays Embermoor, the largest of the kingdoms, and most powerful.

Embermoor is the most peaceful. It is also my home. Soon, it will be my job to watch over it, for I am Princess Isabella Moore, first born daughter of King Christopher Moore and Queen Laurianne Moore, next in line for the crown.

I'm not supposed to make my own decisions. I'm not to fantasize of true love. I'm not even allowed out of the borders of Embermoor.

But at this point, I don't care.
