Sam's POV

I applied the last of my smokey eye shadow and my last light pink lipgloss I checked my self in the mirror my short black dress and my lace collar and my black heels all for one event my mothers funeral I took a sharp breath forcing myself not to cry before the funeral and carefully made my way downstairs to see Mrs Irwin waiting for me see Mrs Irwin was a dare friend to my mother that's why I had stayed with the Irwin's in the first place,

I cried as the funeral started I didn't want to say goodbye to my mum well I was this young speech after speech was made "And now for Sam Hills" I looked up startled I never made a speech "Come here Sam don't be scared now" the funeral director said getting up and taking my hand a sudden thought struck me I whispered in her ear and she showed me to the sound booth "Miss Hills is going to perform her mothers favourite song as a tribute to her passing" I took a deep breath and started singing into the microphone just as some late guest arrived

A drop in the ocean a change in the weather

I was praying that you and me might end

Up together it's like wishing for rain as I stand in the dessert

But I'm holding you closer then most,

Cause you are my heaven

I don't wanna waste the weekend

If you don't love me, pretend a few more hours

then it's time to go

As my train rolls down the east coast

I wonder how you keep warm

It's to late to cry

To broken to move on

And still I can't let you be

Most nights I hardly sleep

Don't take what you need from me

It's just a drop in the ocean a change in the weather

I was praying that you and and me might end up together

It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the dessert

But I'm holding you closer then most,

Cause you are my heaven

I finished he song with a large sigh as silence followed my performance I blushed looking down ready for the judgemental stares and the silent laughs expect this time all I got was clapping and and shocked stares I just avoided them and sat back down till the end

"Uh Miss Hill" I turned around and my mums lawyer was standing behind me "You will have to stay behind to hear the reading of your mothers will" I nodded quickly telling mrs Irwin that I will be home soon and would call her if I needed a ride I climbed in the lawyers black car and drove to her office,

"And finally my daughter Samantha Hills i leave Fifty percent of all my profits, jewellery, but if my daughter is underage she will be sent to live with her father James Hill's"

The last will and testament of Margaret Hills

I growled at the mention of my father "I am not living with that man" I spat "I am sorry darling but it's that or you go to the orphanage" now I'm not being picky hear but I rather have my father over the orphanage any day "Fine when must I go to my farther" "this time next week"
