At the bottom of the stairs, I stare onto the rusty red bricks of my new home (for now), all I could think about is how it all happened. Just yesterday I was with my family, then suddenly I heard the devastating news that would drasctically change my life forever. Then something catches my attention, away from my wondering thoughts. I see the large wooden doors swing open at the top of the stairs, an old woman wearing a black blazer with a white blouse underneath, black high heeled shoes and a tight bun on her head. Gazing at her appearance makes me feel afraid of her. I couldn't tell why. Maybe just the fact that I don't like strict people, and she looks strict.

"Well, well, well. You must be Dyesabelle Ramero. It's very nice to meet you, at last. I am Mrs. Roosevelt, principal of this school and I give to my most sincere apologies for the loss of your parents. But we will take good care of you here at Lancaster Boarding School." addresses the principal. I slowly walk up the stairs and shake her reached-out hand. She touches my shoulders and directs me inside the school.

The sweet delicious smell of chocolate croissants instantly fills my nostrils, creating a warm and hungry feeling in me. As we walk up the giant staircase, she explains to me how the school system and timetables work. I couldn't exactly hear the words coming out of her mouth as my mind trances to my parents again. My eyes get a bit teary, but I quickly wipe them, hoping no one saw me.

"Breakfast is at 7:45am. Class is at 9:00am, so you get ready for class before that. Class ends at 5:00pm. During that time, you will have different classes containing a physical activity each day." announces principal Roosevelt as she gives me my timetable for the year.  I quickly scan the lessons I have for 2 weeks. English with miss Rasseto, maths with miss Waters and science with mr Jovovski were the first thee things that my eyes were directed to.

Principal Roosevelt then gestured me into a room, the fourth room on the left side of the hallway when you reached the top of the left staircase and turned left. There were two beds on each side of the room. One side was filled with descorations, posters, books and a pink bed sheet on top of the bed. So I assumed I was sharing a room with a young, intelligent and neat girl, by the looks of her side of her room. I then heard laughter and chatter coming up the stairs and loud footsteps. I saw girls speed walking to their dorms. Some took a glimpse of me and smiled or just gave me a plain stare with no expression what so ever. Principal Roosevelt was still standing next to me. "Quickly ladies. To your dorms, then get ready for first period", she ordered.

Then, a girl by the looks of my age, walk past me and entered the room, also smiling at me and I smiled back. Principal Roosevelt interjected saying, "Ahhh, Dyesabelle, I would like you to meet Chelsea Thornes. You will be sharing this room with her for the rest of the year." She then looked at Chelsea. "I expect you to inform Dyesabelle what to bring in her classes and the correct uniform to wear. I also trust you will be good friends. Yes?". "Yes Principal Roosevelt" Chelsea answered. Then Principal Roosevelt gave a slight nod to Chelsea and headed straight for the door, but before she was out of sight, she simply added, "Oh, and at the beginning of recess, come to my office. We need to talk about impoatant stuff. Chelsea will show you the way to my office", and with that, she walked out of the room.
