v. YOU ALRIGHT?
Olive Zach found herself sitting at the far corner of the dinner table, eating her plate of food quietly. The rest of the family sat together, talking loudly and animatedly over their food. Every now and then one of the children (Usually Theodosia) would glance over and smile at her, a big and proud smile that could light up a whole room. Olive felt herself blushing faintly and smiling back softly.
Finishing her dinner, she put her plate in the sink and excused herself up into her room. Every Night after dinner, a different person would peek their head in the door and whisper "You Alright?" to which Oliver found herself nodding. The day before school started, there was another whisper of "You Aright?" and this time Oliver found herself bursting into tears.
vi. de·spon·dent
Adj. Hopeless, discouraged.
No matter how she tried to raise her spirits, or make herself feel better, Olive still felt despondent. The world was shown to her in black and white; but only shades of black. She could barely bring herself to read or write as she use to, for now she saw no point. She didnt have any hope for getting better, or for ever even pretending to feel better. Olive just wanted to sit in her room and stare at the walls. Even the walls felt hopeless.
