"How are you today, Genji?" Angela asks as the cyborg sat down at the table across from her. They both sat in the kitchen together, alone.

"I'm alright. Yourself?" Genji replies with a short sigh.

"I'm doing fine, thank you." she says, smiling a little as she took a sip from her tea. She tilted her head in confusion when Genji looked away from her.

    "Are you sure you're okay?"

    "I'm fine."

It was Angela's turn to look away. Genji often acted like this when something was bothering him- closing up and saying that he's okay when it's obvious he's not.

Genji gets up and goes to the counter where a box of protein bars sat, taking one. Genji thought about how much missed the old foods he once enjoyed. Of course he could still eat them, but nothing tasted the same anymore with his new body. Everything tasted so bland and dry that he just didn't want to eat at all sometimes, but he knew he had to.

"Has your sense of taste gotten any better?" Angela asks as he sits back down, peeling back some of the wrapper.

"Not much, unfortunately." he says, taking a small bite out of the protein bar.

"I'm sure I could find a way to make you be able to taste again, but it'll take some work."

"Thank you, but there's no need, Angela. This is my body now, and I'll make due with what I have."

"I'll still be here if you change your mind." she says with a nod.

    There's a moment of silence.

"Are you sure nothing's bothering you? You usually aren't this silent."

"Well... there is one thing." Genji replies.

"Would you like to talk about it?"

"I'm not sure if there's much you can do to help."

"I'm here to listen at least."

Genji ate the rest of the bar, throwing the wrapper in the trash. He sits back down, looking at the floor.

"I'm in love with a woman who likely doesn't love me back." he speaks softly.

"Aw, and what makes you think that she doesn't love you?" Angela says, showing pity. In the back of her mind, she felt disappointed that he was in love with someone else. The truth is, Angela always felt a certain connection with Genji, a connection that she has never felt with anyone else. She couldn't put how it felt into words, but she was extremely drawn to him, and she didn't know why. Sure, Genji was a very kind person and had a handsome face beneath all the scars, but it was something more than that which drawed her to him, but she couldn't lay her finger on what it was. She wanted to call it love, but she felt it was something more than that.

"She..." he pauses, thinking of the right words to use. "lives a very busy lifestyle. She hardly ever takes breaks and doesn't have time for distractions such as love."

"Do you think you could have a talk with her about it? Maybe you could ask her to try to take some breaks or something."

"She wouldn't listen. She has a very important job." Genji says. He was clearly getting upset, but tried to keep calm. Angela picks up on this, moving her chair next to his and placing a hand on his knee.

"Do you mind telling me who she is?" she speaks, speaking in a comforting voice.

    "I'd rather not."

"I understand. Can you at least tell me what she looks like?"

He takes in a deep breath. "She's beautiful, but I don't think she knows it. If I could, I would tell her how pretty she was over and over. She's incredibly smart and hardworking, and would do anything for someone she cares about. She's... perfect." he says, looking away once again.

Angela nods, gently tightening her grip on his leg. She tried to think of who this girl might be.

"Have you ever tried telling her how you feel?" she asks.

"No, I've been too nervous... I don't think she'll love me back."

"I think it would be worth it if you tried telling her. She might feel the same way about you."

Genji gulps, his cheeks turning a soft pink as he looks away from her. Angela watches, somewhat confused.

"I'll... I'll try." he says, taking in another breath, shakily.

He softly takes her hand off his leg, holding it tightly in his soft, synthetic hands. Her eyes go wide, taken by surprise. '"Angela... I love you."

A mixture of emotions swirl inside of Angela; confusion, relief and surprise. Her cheeks light up and Genji looks away and loosens his grip on her hand, preparing himself for rejection.

"Genji..." she says with a bright smile, scooting closer to him. "I love you too."

He returns the smile, sighing with relief. Angela suddenly thinks back to the things he had said before about how busy and overworked she was. She felt her heart ache a bit, holding his hand tightly as her smile disappeared.

"Do you really think that I don't have time for you...?"

"You just seems so busy, constantly... Your desk is covered in stacks of paper, I just don't want to distract or bother you."

"Genji, I can make time to be with you. I don't always have that much work, it must've just been a busy week. Please, you don't have to worry about that."

He nods, leaning on her shoulder.

"Would you like to go get lunch with me later?" Angela says, softly pecking him on the forehead with her nose.

"I'd love to, Angela. ♡"
