Amanda Zilonski was undoubtedly, surprised. She was surprised that she had managed to convince her parents to let her come to school that Monday following the four dissapearences.
As a senior, she had only known Ben, the supposed kidnapped senior. He was-is! one of her very good friends. Brady, the junior, she'd met a few times, but she hadn't known Emily or Ryan.
Amanda stepped off the bus, releasing the breath she had been holding. Some freshman had passed gas, and the smell had been hellish.
She walked cautiously, through the doors and down the hall to her locker. She quickly put in the combination, muttering about lockers of Satan when it didn't open the first few times.
When the locker opened, she shoved her stuff in, grabbed her Physics crap, and scooted down the hall towards class.
Amanda sat down, and put her head down on the desk, murmuring a quick greeting to her classmates around her.
"Hello, hello, hello!" a cheery voice spoke above her
"Hmgh, Hmgh," she grunted back.
"Oh come on! Why so glum?"
"Because my friend dissapeared the first week of school, and I spent the whole weekend on Snapchat, Instagram, and Hangouts attempting to contact him. So if you would have a little sympathy, Ashlyn, that would be great."
"Hey," Ashlyn said quietly. "He was-"
"Is!"
"-is my friend too. I spent the weekend doing that as well. Remember? That doesn't mean I'm going to be a jerk to everyone too."
Amanda sighed. "I know, but my parents almost didn't let me come!"
"Well, Monique's didn't," Ashlyn pointed out.
The bell rang loudly, startling both girls.
"Miss Bayern, please head in the direction of your seat, thank you," Mr. Shawn called from his desk.
"Sorry Teach!"
Ashlyn scampered around backpacks and feet, practically leaping into her desk.
Mr. Shawn stood up and pulled out a cart loaded with vials of chemicals.
"We're going to do a lab today. I've already assi-,"
"But it's only the second Monday of school!" Ashlyn complained.
"You're seniors. Deal with it. As I was saying, I've already assigned partners..."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The bell rang, signaling that class was over. Thankfully everyone was done, and people stampeded out of the classroom.
Amanda and Ashlyn walked with each other, then separated once they came to Ashlyn's locker.
"See you in English!" Ashlyn grinned while speaking. "Unless I get stolen too!" she said in a spooky voice.
Amanda shook her head, waved by, then headed to her locker.
