Natsu's P.O.V
Lucy left just under seven years ago. Today is July 1st 794 -Lucy's 27th birthday.

I can't help but feel it's my fault. I admitted everything to my guild mates as soon as I realised she'd gone and didn't want to be found.

About a month before her departure, we spent the night together on a mission. It was all in the heat of the moment, but everything I said to her, I meant it all. The train ride home the morning after, Lucy avoided me as best she could for being on a mission together. She went so far as to pretend to be asleep so she wouldn't have to talk to me.

Once again her behaviour towards me had been off since that mission. Most days, in front of our guild mates, she'd put on a smile and act as if nothing happend, as if she didn't say she loved me.

I'd confronted her about her odd behaviour towards me, the day before she up and left. We argued and I said things I regret extremely.

'Lucy?" I shout into her apartment through the closed window of her apartment. She stirs and sits up in bed, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Her eyes glance up at the window of which I'm sat outside, tapping on the glass.

"Natsu? W-what are you doing here? I- it's the middle of the night, and besides, you shouldn't be lurking near a girls window."

"Please, Luce. Just let me in. I need to talk to you."

Reluctantly, she lets me in. She backs away, not wanting to meet my eye as I climb through the window. "Natsu... I'm sorry I've been so distant... I've been having a hard time is all and i-"

"Save it Lucy. I know why you've been avoiding me, and I... I really am sorry."

"Natsu, for fuck sake!" She screams at me. "I don't want you to apologize! It was my fault! I slept with my partner! I led you on!"

"But Lucy..." She's facing away from me with tears streaming down her cheeks. I place my hand on her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her but she shrugs it off. "It wasn't anyone's fault. I told you I loved you and-"

"AND WHAT NATSU?! DO YOU EXPECT ME TO WELCOME YOU INTO MY HOUSE AND SAY 'LET'S LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER, AND GET MARRIED AND SHARE EVERYTHING TOGETHER?!' YOU'RE NIEVE AND CHILDISH, NATSU! I-"

"AT LEAST I'M NOT A SPOILT BRAT WHO THREW AWAY EVERYTHING THAT WAS GIVEN TO HER!" I burst out in anger, I've lost control of my words. "AT LEAST I'M NOT SOME SELF-CENTRED CELESTIAL WIZARD WEAKLING WHO HAS TO RELY ON HER LACKYS AND TEAMMATES TO SAVE HER!"

"My celestial spirits aren't 'Lackys'" she spits out, her tone sends a chill down my spine. "I want you to leave. Now."

"B-but Lucy?" I try to argue. The spitfire attitude I held a second ago has evaporated into the realisation of what I've just said. She's having none of it and opens her front door for me to leave. "Just go, Natsu. And tell our guild mates I won't be at the guild for the next few days. I'm taking a break from it all."

"Sure thing, Luce..." I decide there's no use in arguing with her when she's riled up so I leave, heading towards the guild to let my remaining anger out on the ice princess or metal head.

Little did I know that'd be the last I'd see of her...

Now it's been six years and ten months since Lucy's disappearance. The day after our fight two letters were sent to the guild. One addressed to Master Makarov, and the other addressed to everyone in the guild. It was from Lucy. The letter is the only thing I have to remember her by. It explains that she needed to leave the guild due to personal reasons and that she was okay. She didn't want us to come after her and wanted us to let her go. It said we might see her again one day, maybe on a mission or if she's in magnolia, she'll pop into the guildhall for a chat.
