I quickly go down leaving everything unplaced from their original position. I walk out of the flat leaving the door closed but not locked and went down the stairs.

I have to find her. Where is she? I hope she’s okay. I run through the alleys and passages in different avenues searching for her. Where could she have gone to?

I kept searching for her for hours until it came a time that it was night already. I sit on a bench I see and sighed to myself. My elbows rested on my lap as my face dug onto my hands.

“Where are you Paige?” I say with worry and annoyance.

I get up after a while and started to look for her again. In the midst of walking in the darkness I look from left to right, hoping that I might see her. My eyes come to a stop once I have observed a well-lit shop.

I look through the transparent window and I see a familiar figure. Paige. I run to her, passing the street making cars stop so suddenly, hearing wheels screech on the concrete. I hear limited passengers shout and honk their cars.

I say sorry for a second and go inside the small shop. I take her hand as we walk out and stop, standing on the side walk as a few people pass by.

“What are you going to do? How did you find me?” I take her in my arms and she gasps by my sudden movement.

“I’m sorry.” I whisper in her ear as she stays still.

I know she’s afraid me, and I’m sorry about that. I just- I just don’t want to lose her.

“Get away from me!” She tries to push me away but she fails.

“No. I won’t let go of you, Paige. I won’t. I can’t leave you behind, again.” I say softly.

She stops from moving and just stood. I could tell she was processing the words in her head. But then again, she tries to get away and this time she had the luck to.

“You’re crazy. I don’t even know you!” She stands inches away infront of me with her index finger pointed at my face.

“Trust me Paige. We have to get you out of here.” I say calmly and grab her hand and walk but she takes her hand back and stops.

“No.” She says harshly. ”You can’t do this to me.” Her eyebrows start to crunch becoming mad and I as well.  She was meters away from me. I glare at her giving her the look that she should follow me.

“Paige.” I command slightly reaching for her to take my hand but she just ignores me. “Paige!” I shout.

“You’re not my father, nor my mother. Why should I trust and follow you?”

“Paige!” I scream once more.

She suddenly runs away and I immediately trail her steps running likewise. I catch her by grabbing her by the waist.

She tries to hit both my arms while I kept my grip still hugging her. “Stop.” I say blankly but she doesn’t seem to bother. “Stop!” I demand but she just doesn’t pause.

“Brooklyn, stop it! I won’t hurt you!” She halts and gives up and lets me carry her.

After a while of wandering, I stop and put her down. She stands still beside me and I reach for her with my hand again giving her the sign to take it and to my surprise she does. We both walk, but I could sense that she was trying to catch up with me with my large strides making it hard for her.

We were finally back to her apartment. We take the stairs going up and going back to her place. I open the door still holding her. We end up in the dining area.

“Do you want water? Anything?” I ask. Her head was down and she was playing with her fingers as she sat and I stood.

She nods slowly and I go to the kitchen grabbing a glass and opening the fridge to pour some water. I walk back to her giving her what she wanted. I sit on a chair nonchalantly opposite to her having the intention to just face her. She drinks it and I watch her and she later speaks.

Paige’s POV

“What do you want from me?” I say sadly directly looking at him. I just want everything to go back to normal. I don’t want to end up just trying to run for my life from a person. I don’t like this. I hate this! I hate everything that’s happening right now!

I watch him breathe in from his nostrils and sigh. “Nothing.” He says as if it was nothing serious.

“Then why are you doing this to me?”

 “Nothing.”

“You can’t just say ‘nothing’ when you clearly want something!” I shout and stand, my eyes starting to become blurry.

“There’s nothing that I want from you! It’s what I want to do.”

“What? Ruin people’s lives and make them run away from someone they don’t know and who maybe a killer?” My hand begins to flail and I laugh sarcastically.

 “No, that’s not it!”

“Then what is? Then what is it?” I throw the glass of water on the floor making it crash into pieces.

“It’s not what I want to do! That’s not what I want to do! I don’t want to kill people and I never did or even once killed anyone! I don’t want to ruin people’s lives and I especially don’t want to ruin yours because that’s not my intention. My intention is that to keep you away from any harm and save you from every fucking fucked up thing that’s in and going to be in your life!” He stops. I could hear his heavy breathing.

“It’s not what I want from you. It’s what I want to do for you, okay?” He shouts.

I could feel the tears rushing down my face. He leaves me standing and I just couldn’t believe what happened.

Hi! I hope you like this chapter. Forgive me if there are any typographical errors. And you also might think that there are any grammatical errors and I am sorry for that (if there are even any) because like I’ve said, I have this sickness where you type in words and once read that sentence there are words that are actually unseen and it makes it look like I’m grammatically wrong so yeah. Once again, I hope you like this. Vote and comment what you think
