The fact that I lost my sense of self with him wasn't what scared me. What scared me was the thought of us becoming each other's personal drugs. A drug that was as addictive and heart racing as cocaine and as tiring as heroin. A drug that would in t...
I felt euphoric. I felt happy, energized, like I could talk to anyone like I could do anything I wanted with no hesitation.
Matt and I left the club and we're now walking the streets on Manhattan at three in the morning.
There of course was a bodyguard with us but I didn't mind.
"Where do you wanna go? You wanna go to Central Park? Wanna go to another club? Wanna go get pizza? Wanna go-" I cut Matt off.
"No let's go to the fountain over there!" I point toward the fountain that stood tall.
"Good idea." Matt takes my hand and we run toward the fountain.
"That's not a good idea Mr. Princeton." The bodyguard speaks loudly before we get the chance to go in.
"What did you just say?" Matthew gets off of my hand and looks back at the tall man.
"It's not a good ide-" Matt cuts him off.
"No.... it is a good idea because we said it's a good idea. YOU WORK FOR ME! I COULD FIRE YOUR ASS RIGHT NOW AND YOU'LL END UP BROKE I HAVE MORE MONEY IN MY FUCKING BANK ACCOUNT THAN YOU, YOU FUCK!"
Matt was literally yelling in this guys face.
Having no idea where this came from, I attempt to grab Matt's hand and pull him back.
If I was sober I would try harder, but instead I just stood there, laughed and jumped up and down.
"Ok, sir." The bodyguard looks up as Matt laughed in his face.
"Come on baby girl." Matthew grabs my hand and we begin to frantically walk.
There were cars speeding down the street, but for some reason I felt like I wanted more of an adrenaline rush.
I didn't care what happened to me.
Matt's fingertips slipped from my fingers as I began walking out into the street. Cars were honking at me but I didn't care.
"Veronica!" Matt yells out at me. I could hear the fear in his voice but I could also taste the freedom I wanted.
I got to the yellow lines that separated lanes and put my arms out while closing my eyes.
The cars speeding by sent shivers down my spine and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Everything sounded like it was muffled.
"Nica!" Only hearing the last part of my name, I feel two hands on my shoulders, pushing me toward the sidewalk.
The person nearly picks me up.
I open my eyes to see Matt with a worried look on his face.
"Are you crazy?" His hands were on each side of my face as I just smiled.
"Yes." He begins to laugh at me, before leaning down and kissing me.
"You're insane." We end up walking around almost all night. We felt so energized and ready to do anything we wanted.
The time was now 9 o'clock in the morning and we've been awake all night.
Right now we're at Matt's place getting ready to go see my parents.
