Chapter 1

The First Day Of High School
Monday morning... *yawn* "Uhhh..." "Grayson! Come down and eat breakfast!" My mom yelled out. "Ugh..! Coming!" As I arose from my bed so tired and weak, I walked down stairs with a torpidly back. "Good morning dad... "Morning son!" My ghostly dad said while reading some news paper. I sit down as my mom turned around and placed my plate on the table. "So ready for your first day on high school." "Mmm not really.." I said as I Mummer. "Oh come on, how bad could it be? Plus Blake is gonna be there." "Oh yeh I forgot.. But still.. What if we end up getting bullied or something..." "Oh come on stop thinking of those bad things, Your gonna have a blast, don't worry." She said nicely as she gave me a kiss on the cheek. "Ugh.." I felt scared for what is gonna happen at school, I place my hand on my cheek tilting my head. Then my father comes and puts his hand on my hand. "Don't worry son, it's alright, I still remember my first day of high school, Hmhm I was as scared as you, but when I got their I met so many new friends, even the love of my life." "But dad, what if I don't want a girlfriend." "Son I never said just girlfriends, look you'll find out what I mean pretty soon." His last words as he fades away. I sigh as I walk up stairs again not caring about my breakfast. (In his head) what if I don't want new friends.. I want my old friends from Lester's Elementary.. *sigh* but at least I still have my best friend.. He'll never leave me. I know that for sure. "Don't worry jinx your still gonna be my best buddy also." As I say petting him on the back. I fall on my bed with my arms spread out. "Jinx, sometimes do you feel like your not really here.. That this is all a dream.." Jinx squeaks at me like I'm crazy. "Ok ok that might've sounded a bit off. Now, I better get ready..." I open my closet to see what I can find. "Hmm maybe I'll wear my Aparri fan t-shirt, nah, I'll look stupid. Hm ah, my ghost busters t-shirt, this is my favorite shirt in the whole world. Don't you think is great too jinx?" Jinx squeaks. "Yeh that's what I like to hear, see jinx your always the only one who agrees with me, well Blake always agrees with me to." I walk out to my moms room only two rooms away from my room. "Look mom how about this?" "Honey your old enough to pick your own cloths now, you got to stop acting like your in elementary still." "Mom I just asked if this is fine." "Yes it's fine Grayson. Now hurry its almost time, and we live 23 minutes away." I walk out and see my dad about to walk into my moms room. "Hey pops how do you think about this?" My mom looks out her room in confusion as she wonders who I'm talking too. "Umm.. Grayson?, who are you talking to?" "Mom I'm talking to- huh?" My dad disappeared without telling me anything. "Umm.. I was just talking too... Jinx! Yeh, yeh, jinx. Heh... Now bye I'ma be In my room!" I run and slam lock my door. "Umm ok??" My mom says with an eyebrow up. I turn around and see my father sitting on my bed. "Oh dad! There you are!" "Son look I'm not real, I'm only visible to you." "What are you talking about? I thought mom can see you as well?" "Son.., remember... I died 2 years ago..." "Ohh... Yeh... Right.." I say while looking down at the floor sliding my hand on my arm. "Look son.. I'm always here.. And with your mother also.. But don't be speaking to me right in front of your mother, it will freak her out. Understand?" "Yes..." "Good.." He says hugging me tightly. "Now hurry your gonna be late." He says as he fades away once again. *sigh* I lay my back on my door. "Why does my life have to be so... I can't even explain it.. Well.. Complicated! That's the word..." "Grayson!! I'ma be waiting for you outside!" "*gasp* oh shoot! I haven't even got ready yet!! Jinx jinx help!!" I say while running around putting on cloths I need. I run out to the restroom and brush my hair as fast as I could. "Alright almost done mom! Alright gotta grab my backpack! Ok I'm done! Bye jinx! I say as I close his cage. I take one more look at my room to see if everything is fine. "Ok jinx has food and water all my cloths are neat." "Grayson!!!" "Oh um coming mom!! Oh forget the checking!!" I run down stairs as fast as I could. "Alright bye jinx bye dad love yah!!" I slam the door. "Hurry, what took you so long?" My mom said concerned. "Uh you know checking if stuff was all neat and nice." "Aw thanks, did you feed jinx?" She said while backing up out of the driveway. "Yeh I fead him and gave him some water." "Look you know I could just feed jinx when I get home." "Yeh but.. He doesn't really trust anyone else except me." "Oh haven't you ever thought about having a dog?" "Nah their to noisy and way way to hyper. Why do you ask?" "Well I mean you seem pretty lonely at home and all you have is a small rodent to talk to." "Nah I'm ok, plus I like small animals, and dad gave me jinx, so I would never give him away or let anything happen to him." "Oh your dad would've been so proud of you on your first day of high school." She said as she touched my face with her hands. "Yeh..." "Your siblings would also be very proud." "Jace and Analynne?" I say while squinting my eyes at her. "Nah they probably forgot about me already." "Oh come one you saw them a while ago." "Mom they broke their promise, they said they will visit every month, and the last time I saw them was when I was in 7th grade, 7th grade mom!" I say angrily. "Grayson stop, they love you and will never forget about you, look they have a lot of things going on in college right now." "Yeh there to busy that they can't even come and visit their only family." I say while looking out the window." My mom looked at me and sighed with a sad grin on her face. We never spoke to each other until we got to the high school. "Alright bye mom.." I say while opening the door. I give her one last hug until the end of the day. "Bye honey.. And be careful you don't know what kind of people are out here." "Alright alright mom. I gotta look for Blake now." "Oh right right ok bye! Have fun I'ma pick you up right here at the end of the day, got it?" "Yes mom." "Ok now bye love you!" She said as she drives away. I turn around and take a deep breath. "Ok Grayson it's gonna be fine, just like dad told you. Now I gotta find Blake. I say while talking to myself . "He's probably hanging around with girls maybe, like he always does.." I walk around looking for Blake then all of the sudden I hear an exited voice running at me, I turn around "Blake?!"
