It shattered her life.

He was her only friend at the lonely place. The other girls would always snicker and called her ugly and poor.

But he understood her. He truly did. When she was sad and down, he would buy her pringles just to cheer her up, even if it costs him all of his lunch money.

He was the sole reason why she loved chips. Sometimes she would cry and he would lend her a shoulder, even though he knew he would walk away with wet sleeves later that day.

It was all worth it to him.

Until that day.

She was mad at him because he didn't go to school for the past few days. He came back to school, wearing a cap. She knew that he was sick. When they sit under the tree after school, she would take off his cap, and touch his shaved head.

But she never really knew why he had to shave off his head just because he was sick. She had gotten sick too, quite a few times when she was smaller. But she never had to shave her head.

They would play with each other, running around aimlessly in the garden, as if they were each other's sole happiness.

One day, everything changed.

He was absent for about a few weeks now, and she was apparently, mad at him. He had been missing out school since he fainted that day at the garden. A lady came that day, to be specific, his mother came.

"May I see kang seulgi?"

She was surprised, but also curious. His mother looked as if she had cried a lot, because of her red eyes. She had drove them to another place. It was a large white building. She read the enormous red sign above her, "Hospital" it said.

She had never been to one, although she had heard that this was where all the very sick people were.

They arrived in front of a room, which cries could be heard from the inside. Little seulgi wondered why those people were crying. But when they went in, she saw his lifeless body there, sleeping.

She walked up to his bed without hesitation, and tried to wake him up, saying that she's mad at him.

But he just wouldn't wake up.

His family members were all around them, and all of them had empty and blank expressions on their faces.

"Why won't he wake up?"

"He's not going to wake up anymore, seulgi. He's going to somewhere where there's no pain and he could be happy there too."

"But why didn't he bring me with him?"

"Because he believes in you. He believes that you can do so much more here. He even brought pringles to you because he knows that you'll be mad at him."

At this point, seulgi finally understood.

He was never coming back.
