The Walking Dead: Season 5: Episode 1: Sacrifice

Scene 4: Reunion

Carl comes up above to see the rest of the group grinning, and chuckling. He is followed by Michonne, when they come up it appears to be around 4 in the afternoon. It's sunny and warm with a cool breeze. It's then that Carl notices that everyone is looking at him, smiling. Carl's eyes fall on Tyreese, who iis holding Judith, alive and well.Carl's unreadable expression slowly changes into shock. He walks over to Tyreese, "H-How-What-But-How'd You?" Carl stutters. "Grabbed her out of her seat during the battle, Ran off with her." said Tyreese.

Carl grins and takes her. He holds her in his arms, he kisses her on the head, and cries with tears of happiness. Everyone watches, smiles on their faces.  "Dad look, Ju-" said Carl as he turned around. As his smile fades, so does everyone else's. He hugs Judith tightly, sobbing uncontrollably. Daryl pulls Carol aside. "What's wrong?" she asks.  "Rick didn't make it." said Daryl. Carol's face turns into a slightly sorrowful expression. "Oh. What happened?" she said. "Before going to Terminus, we buried a bag of guns in the woods outside of the place. Rick lied saying he was going to go get them so we could defend ourselves, It was suicide, we tried to tell him. Of course, he already knew that. He planned it. He knew we weren't going to get out, so he sacrificed himself to give us a chance."

"I see." said Carol, "Where's Beth?" Daryl bows his head in shame. "I was with her. They kidnapped and killed her." "It's alright pookie." said Carol, putting her hands on his shoulders, but he shakes them off "You know Rick called me his brother a few days ago." "Did he?" "Better brother than Merle ever was. What about you? How'd you find Tyreese?" Daryl lowers his voice to a whisper, "Does he know?" "Yes." said Carol. "How'd you find them?" "I didn't ,Tyreese was out scouting and I found Lizzie and Mika."Daryl looks around. "So where are they?" "Dead." Carol replied "Christ, what happened?" "Lizzie for some reason believed that walkers are real people, just like everyone else. She believed that were sick or something So she killed Mika to try and prove her point, when Tyreese and I found her, she was about to do it to Judith too. So I led her out to a field and shot her."

Daryl is shocked. "Wait, you killed a kid?"  "Every moment that that girl was breathing, Judith was in danger. I did the right thing." "The right thing?!?" Everyone at that moment then turns to look at them. "Man, what is it with you and killing our people?!? "Daryl, she was unstable, she-" "THEN TEACH HER! We've lost enough people already! Jim, Dale, Lori, T-Dog, Merle, Andrea, Hershel, Beth, Rick, and Sophia!" Carol cringes slightly at this, but Daryl goes on. "What would she think of you? What if she knew you were a killer?!? "She would be afraid, but she would be alive. I was weak but now that I'm strong, I know I can do anything." said Carol

Daryl scoffs. "Yeah, like killing our people? That's a good thing! Man, this is why you got kicked out of the prison! You st-" Carol slaps him in the face,Daryl looks shocked, and than walks away. Daryl Collapses against a tree, crying over the loss of Beth, believing that it's his fault. "There is no such thing as forgiveness anymore, you either forget things or you don't. Beth's death and my responsibility for it a I will never forget." Daryl sniffled. "Daryl is right, haven't we lost enough people?" said Sasha. "Karen and David were gonna kill us, I had to do it." said Carol "It doesn't matter, that was not your call to make Carol." said Glenn, "So is that it than?!? You're just going to excommunicate me from this group just like Rick because I was trying to protect us?!? Do you even know what I've sacrificed for you people? I have lost my daughter, given up my fragile personality, and when I finally become a woman who helps keep this group alive you all downgrade me! You ungrateful pieces of shit."

Abraham than clears his throat, unshoulders his pack, and stands in the center of the group. "Well I hate to interrupt his "emotional moment" but we have to get going." said Abraham. "What are you talking about?" Daryl snapped. "Eugene here knows what caused this outbreak, and he also knows ho to cure it." said Abraham. "That's bullshit." said Daryl. "It's not "bullshit" he does know, and we're going to go to D.C." All of a sudden, a gun clicks. Abraham turns around and sees Carl pointing his gun at him.
