Chapter 4: See You Again

Valentine

I have a couple of hours to be ready, and I'll be leaving to another country. It's insane how little time I have. In a short notice.

I'm nervous, I never been on my own. I won't feel like a princess when I arrive to wherever Sanchez plans in taking me.

My heart is beating fast, scared to meet others. I wonder if they are nice. Though I know not to trust boys.

I finish packing my things and am helped by our servants as they take my luggage downstairs. I follow behind as the king and queen, my parents await.

"I don't think it's necessary to take a lot of stuff," Sanchez mentions as he stands with them. "You're going to need new things to fit in."

"That's right," mother mentions as she smiles sadly at me.

"Well for me it means more than fitting in, I'll see what I'll take then," I grab some of my stuff checking what to take as Leslie kneels by me helping me.

"You know this is to protect you, everything we done has been to protect you," my father mentions, I look up at him nodding.

"I know."

I finish and nod at Sanchez as he takes the luggage I want to take.

"I love you so much," my mother hugs me as she cries.

"I love you too," I sigh hugging back. I don't want to cry, I don't want to show my weakness.

"Be careful," she pulls back wiping away her tears as she looks at me.

"What is going on?"

I groan as we all look over as Lord Nicholas makes his way inside.

"Is someone going on vacation?"

"Lord, this is a bad timing," my dad tells him.

"What is it?" Nicholas furrows his eyebrows.

"Valentine is going away for a few months," my mother says.

"Mother he doesn't need to know everything," I look at her and she shrugs.

"Why is she going away?" The Lord asks.

"She's in danger, we will solve this and as soon as we do, we will bring her back," my dad explains.

"I understand your majesty, I am just saddened that I won't be able to see my future queen," he looks at me with a smile.

I mentally gag.

"Maybe time is what you need princess, when you come back I will be waiting for you," he winks.

"Sure, keep telling yourself that," I snap.

"Valentine," my father glares at me and I sigh.

"Only time will tell," I say more calmly.

"Until then my princess," Lord walks over grabbing my hand kissing it. I look away uncomfortably as he pulls back. "If there is anything that you need my king, don't hesitate to ask. I will be glad to help."

"Thank you Lord Nicholas we will inform you if we do," my dad nods at him.

The Lord finally walks out the door.

"Why don't you like him?" My mother asks.

"He's not what I want, you won't understand," I sigh.

"Tell you what," my dad adds. "If you find the man that you're willing to commit to, within three months, we will let this whole Lord marriage proposal go."

"You mean, I have three months to find someone I want to marry to? Father, my king, how will I know he's the one with so little time?"

"You will know sweetheart, trust me. But if you don't find someone by when you come back in those three months, you'll marry Lord Nicholas."

"Jacob, I don't think anyone is going to want to marry our daughter in so little time," my mom tells him. "It's not the same here with royalty. Out there they need years before thinking of marriage."

"I know that, but if Valentine believes her prince exists somewhere, he wouldn't have a problem in marrying her so quickly. Through time they get to know each other, and if things don't work out then they don't work out."

"I don't want Valentine to get hurt," my mom argues.

"Umm why do I need to marry someone? Wait three months, that's a month after my birthday. I will be turning seventeen though, I can't get married that young."

"Oh no, you'll get married when you're eighteen, throughout that year we'll know the man you choose, and by when you turn eighteen if he's still by your side, then he's the one," my dad smiles at me.

"Oh, I see. That makes sense," I say.

"Sir we are ready," Sanchez comes back in.

My father nods as he then hugs me.

"Take care, Sanchez will always have your back okay?"

"Okay dad," I chuckle and pull back. He smiles at me and my mom hugs me again.

I haven't seen the queen this vulnerable before.

Leslie then hugs me too as she cries.

"I'm going to miss you princess."

"Me too friend, take care of the king and queen," I chuckle pulling back and smile at her. I wave at them as I follow Sanchez out.

He takes me to the car helping me in.

The car ride was silent as I can't help but think of my family.

We arrive to our destination and Sanchez helps me out as some of the other guards bring over my luggage.

We walk over to the private jet as I walk up the stairs first settling in.

As soon as we're set, we take off.

Now I know what home sick actually means.
